A question for Ami: What Pokemon game did you start out with? Also, do you remember your first random shiny encounter?
Pokemon Red! It was almost 16 years ago when I was just starting sixth grade! My little brother wanted Blue version, so I ended up with Red. I remember getting really mad at him because I wanted a Vulpix soooo badly but they weren’t available in Red, and even though we had a link cable, he wouldn’t trade me one. I ended up sneaking into his room later and trading it myself though.
And I remember my first random shiny encounter like it was just last year…because it was. Amethyst the Makuhita (now a Hariyama), which I found by complete chance, no shiny charm or anything, not long after starting Alpha Sapphire. I had literally never run into a wild shiny before in any previous game.

Okay the "originality meme" came from the X-Factor (I think) where celebrity judge Natalia Kills went off on one of the contestants that his look was "unoriginal" and "copying her husband" Willy- something (who looks UGLY btw) when the kid was just dressed nicely with the wet combover style (that like LOTS OF GUYS DO TO DRESS UP) and Willy boy encouraged her vicious verbal attack but the other judges were like "whoa he looks fine and his act was good chill" and then they got fired afterwards
