Magia Exedra
re. the latest event: Now, I know pretty much every single magical girl in the franchise is in dire need of some therapy at any given point, but, damn Koito, you really need some therapy.
Whom ive dubbed the eggshell witch. I kinda forgot about her until her exedra appearance oooooooooops
Isnt she adorable?
Level select page for Exedra, which you choose a series to be given different barriers of witches from that specific series to explore . For example, H. N. Elly, Charlotte, and Suleika's barriers are shown. Noticeably alongside Madoka Magica and Magireco, Sadness Prayer is an option, even though its noted that Sadness Prayer has no named witches in the manga.
There is still shown to be witches in that specific part of Oriko Magica, though we nothing about each of these witches. Really really intrigued to see if we'll finally see representation of the many obscure witches shown in the various manga, and be given information towards each of them.
No matter how well Magia Exedra has adapted Oriko Sadness Prayer, if you don't read the manga you will never experience the joy of seeing Kirika snap a girl's neck with her bare thighs 😔
There's this strange moment of calm close to the end of Sadness Prayer. Oriko starts the story thinking about killing herself (you don't spend your one and only wish on asking the meaning of your life unless you're convinced it doesn't have one) and spirals down from there - she gets the closest thing she ever had to a friend killed, she sets up a ridiculous rube goldberg machine plan that kills half a dozen magical girls just to get a glimpse of Homura's powers, she gets both her and Kirika's hands dirty over and over again until they're both broken past the point of caring about casualties - until finally she reads her father's diary, learns that half the reason he killed himself was that he was terrified of her, and hits the bottom. She goes to confront the man who framed him for his crimes and then in the critical moment she gives up on revenge and becomes free
For the first and only time in the manga Oriko drops her facade and lets herself be a normal teenage girl instead of the perfect cold ideal she's been forcing herself to be. She decides to leave politics to adults, she remembers that there are people in the world who care about her and repairs her relationship with her uncle, she admits to herself that saving the world was always just a front she was putting up to try to pretend her life meant something and that what actually makes her happy is living a normal life with Kirika... and then as if she's cleared away all her regrets and settled her affairs she plows right ahead into her plan for a school shooting double suicide finale. She turns her girlfriend into a witch, tries to fight four magical girls at once, gets an entire school's worth of random civilians killed, finally succeeds in preventing the apocalypse by killing Madoka, and dies pointlessly throwing her body in the way of a blow that would have hit Kirika's lifeless corpse in a useless effort to protect the happiness she's long since given up. I'm going to be obsessed with her forever
Lina’s magical girl outfit
Started reading Puella Magi Oriko Magica: Sadness Prayer, and so far Komaki Asako is my favorite character.
Her personality reminds me of Kyouko. In fact, her interactions with Oriko remind me in some ways of Mami and Kyouko. Plus she’s a blue-coded Magical Girl, which I always like.
