A somber reminder of Death and the End of the World, it will remain here until Christmas Eve (as mandated by the court of Judge John @hodgman.)

First Day of SAdvent 2014: A Fifth of Sadness

And so SAdvent 2014 begins. Look upon Sadness Tree V, ye mighty, and despair!

Here it stands, installed in the Sadness Shed, heralding the official beginning of SAdvent.

This year's "tree" is made from rolled up plain, brown paper (which is made from trees which were slain, pulverized, boiled and other unpleasant things), and festooned with greenery and dead flowers from our yard.

It also has Latin phrases inscribed on it in Sharpie. That's something.
