You Won’t Leave Me
Saeran x Reader
How would Saeran handle you jumping in front of the bullet meant for V?
Time seemed to move slowly enough that it could’ve just froze. The bullet exploded from the barrel of the gun just after a blur of her figure rushed passed me. My heart stopped when her body went it limp and was caught by my intended target.
My arm fell limply to my side. My grip on the pistol loosened and it slipped from my grasp. I faintly heard it clatter on the ground as I rushed over to her.
“Stop fucking touching her!” I yelled at the blue haired man that had caught her.
I pulled her from his grasp, causing her to gasp in pain. I held her close as I looked down at her face, her face getting paler by the second. Her eyes fluttered open and she couldn’t seem to focus on anything not matter how hard she tried.
“Why did you… Why?!” My fingers bit into her shoulder as I continued to hold her.
“I didn’t…want you…to live with regret.” Her voice was soft and barely audible.
I couldn’t keep my anger from boiling over. “You didn’t want me to regret anything so you jumped in front of a bullet?! How is that supposed to work out?!”
“D-Don’t worry… I won’t leave…you…” Her body felt lifeless as she closed her eyes. I shook her gently as if she would wake up if I continued.
“Don’t shake her like that, just put pressure on the wound.” The voice of the brown-haired man, Vanderwood, sounded distant and I shrugged his hand off my shoulder.
“Shut the fuck up!” I yelled at him before hooking my arm underneath her knees and lifting her up.
I rushed for the door ignoring all the clamor around me and the Savior screamed for me to stop. Fuck her. Her promises were false. My brother was meant to die and she wanted to initiate him as part of Mint Eye. I was never good enough for her, she wanted my brother all along. All the sleepless nights I had. Pushing myself to limits that I didn’t know I had, trying to prove I was better than him.
All of it was for nothing.
I was better than him. I hacked his systems. I sent the woman to the apartment. I changed his complicated algorithms. I was the better twin. I was the better hacker. For once I knew that I was more useful. The Savior could sit and stew on her mistake. I wasn’t going to be a puppet for her any longer.
My grip tightened on _____ while she stayed unconscious in my arm. I had to get her to the hospital. She was my true savior. She didn’t use me for an underlining ultimatum. Her smile and her words towards me were genuine. The only light in my otherwise blackened world.
“I refuse to let you die, _____!”
I lifted my head off the sheets of her hospital bed. Keeping my eyes closed I listened to the steady beep of the monitors. They were oddly comforting, telling me that she was still alive and breathing. I felt around, blindly searching for her hand. I didn’t want to open my eyes and find that the beeps from the machines was just a dream.
When my fingers closed around her hand I let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding. Her hand was warm, further proof that she was still alive. I opened my eyes and looked at her face. She was no longer as pale as when I first brought her in.
I ran my free hand through my hair. The past few hours were literally the worst I had ever been through. Fuck the abandonment I felt when my brother left without a word. Fuck the words of the fraudulent savior. The pain of my past didn’t matter.
When they took _____ back to the operating room, I fell to my knees, silently pleading for her to survive. My vision blacked and hours passed as I stared off into the distance, waiting for news on her condition.
I was brought back to the present when her hand twitched in mine. I looked at her face, my eyes darting over every curve, memorizing everything. I reached up and brushed her bangs out of her face as she began to wake up.
“S-Saeran…?” She coughed and winced before opening her eyes. Her voice was raspy and when her gaze met mine my heart skipped a beat. Despite everything, she still smiled so sweetly at me. She gave my hand a slight squeeze. “I told you. I’m not leaving you.”
I gently squeezed her hand back. “You could’ve fucking died! Why would you jump in front of a gun like that?!”
Her shoulders flinched as I yelled at her. “I-I’m sorry. I just… I just didn’t want you to hurt anymore.”
I was taken aback by her words. My jaw clenched as I tried to keep my anger in check. “And jumping in front of a bullet I shot is the best way to do that?”
“If you had killed him, you would regret it. It would’ve caused you more pain.” She said quietly as she looked down at our hands, moving her hand to lace our fingers.
“You’re looking out for me when you shouldn’t.” With my other hand under her chin I lifted her gaze. “But if you ever do something that fucking stupid again, I’ll make sure that you’ll regret your actions.”
Her eyes widened and her pupils dilated as she swallowed hard. “W-What do you mean?”
I chucked as I leaned in towards her, our lips barely touching. “Don’t play stupid, _____. You know better than to do that with me.” Keeping my eyes on hers I pressed our lips together. Pulling back I smiled as her cheeks brightened in a blush. I grabbed her chin, forcing here to look at me. “You’re mine, and I won’t allow you to leave me.”
