What is the big deal with Power Point slides?
Why is it such a big topic of discussion among information designers/architects/everystudentwhohaseverwalkedonearth?
TED, a powerful resource for just-about-any-kind-of-information ever has a little debate going on featuring two well-known gurus: Edward Tufte versus Hans Rosling. They’ve posted a little blog and YOU SHOULD READ IT. Because if you are a human being, you will probably have to make the decision to use a slideshow or not at some point in your life.
Some thoughts to consider before you do make this decision:
Humans, now more than ever, think and process information in sound bytes.
Just because you’re not a designer doesn’t mean you can’t learn a thing or two about making FONTS look pretty, choosing the RIGHT COLOUR SCEME, and how to embrace text BREVITY.
