Always post the rules: Answer the questions Ask 5 New questions Tag 5 new blogs Let them know they’ve been tagged.
The questions:
1) What are you currently reading?
The Return of the King b J.R.R. Tolkien and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
2) Ever hated/really disliked a book that everyone else seemed to love?
The Hunger Games and the legion of imitators that followed. I think it's cool to see a female protagonist who's all about saving the world and not so much about the men...but other than that, I'm just not crazy about it. Or the legion of imitators that have flooded the market since.
3) What author do you admire most?
A lot of them, but John Milton probably. He grew up wanting to write the great English epic (in the vein of King Arthur) but got caught up in other things. He wrote stuff for the side that one the English Civil War, but the monarchy was restored a decade later, and suddenly everything he had worked for was gone. He got married twice and both of his wives died (I think). He went blind. The man looked like a failure. But he tried to make sense of that pain by writing what would become Paradise Lost, which tries to explain why pain is in the world in the first place. But because he was blind he had to dictate it to his daughter...which made writing it even harder I imagine. So in the end, he wrote an epic no one was expecting when he was old, blind, and miserable. It's a triumph. It gives me hope.
4) Is there any genre that you refuse to read?
Erotica....because, erotica.
5) What book would you most like to see a movie adaptation of?
The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. Even though I loved The Hobbit I'm not as big a fan of the hobbit movies. The book wasn't epic in the same way LoTR was. The Silmarillion, however, is an unexpected delight and even MORE epic than LoTR IMO. So they should really have made that instead of The Hobbit. Or just shortened The Hobbit down into two movies.
My Questions:
1. Which book have you gotten the most emotional over?
2. Is there a book you didn't think you would like but ended up liking?
3. What is your least favorite author?
4. What was your favorite book as a kid?
5. Which book did you start reading and just never finish?

That sound AMAZING!! I absolutely love the Gothic! That such an interesting topic! I've only ever read Frankenstein so I need to check that other one out! I'm working with the gothic in my thesis as well! Good luck, it sounds awesome and super fun!!!
Oh my gosh! What's your thesis?!
The Last Man is an apocalyptic novel about a plague that sweeps in from the east and destroys everything. It follows Adam, who is the last man to survive. (I've only read some excerpts so far.)
safeaspockets replied to your post “I should be writing thesis but instead I'm scrolling irrelevant but interesting research and tumblr like”
What's your thesis on?!
Themes of grief, fear, movement, and tension between the ideal and realistic in Mary Shelley's novels Frankenstein and The Last Man through a biographical lens.
AND IT'S SO FREAKING FUN!!! I am in love with Mary Shelley. I see her as this quiet young woman caught up in the soap opera that is William Godwin, Percy Shelley, and the rest of their circle (like Byron). I love the Gothic and Sublime. It all started from reading Frankenstein last summer and being enchanted with the questions of morality and what makes humanity. :)
THANK YOU FOR ASKING!!! I love when people ask about Mary.
Chicken Nugget Pie
For future reference, the tag "Chicken Nugget Pie" refers to the best Facebook chat thread ever, between myself, Brian, and Anastacia. This may or may not be important.
I got tagged so why not? (:

Questions:
If you could travel anywhere in the world (money isn’t a problem) where would you go and what would you do?
I would take Justin and Cole to Canada or N. Europe and we trapeze around causing all sorts of trouble. Trying foods and dancing with locals.
2. Are you happy with who you are?
Yes, my identity is a beautiful promise.
3. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life what book would you pick? why?
Geez, you can't ask an English Major that?!?! I refuse this question-- but I'm currently reading Inkheart and I think it's simply gorgeous.
4. If you could describe yourself in 3 words what would they be?
Alexandria Nicole (My last name, haha) Naw, maybe: reader, lover, listener
5. If you make your pet able to live as long as you down to the day would you?
I don't have any pets.
6. Beach or Mountains?
Tough question but probably mtns, it's where I live and there's less creatures that scare me. I love the wind and waves though. But I will never leave my mountains, even if only in my heart.
7, What is your quirkiest trait?
Again, too tough of a question. I make really creepy connections about people and forget that it's weird so I just spout them off. Like "oh hey person I only know by name but you don't know that I know you...you got mail in your post box today, you should check it."
8. Are you the type of person to take care people or do people take care of you?
I take care of people, it's how I was raised.
9. During a tragedy where would you run? Towards the destruction to save someone or the other way to save yourself?
Depends on the situation, but I'd like to say that I would run towards it.
10. If today was 11/27/1922, what would you be doing?
I would be doing the same thing I am now: getting the house ready with Grandma for family tomorrow and working on homework (I just wouldn't be using a computer to do it all).

Me: I do not want to be here. I want to go home.
Anastacia: THE SUN WILL COME OUT...TOMORROW! (I'm sorry, that's the only motivational song I could think of)
Me: I will still be here tomorrow. The sun can go fuck itself.
Anastacia: Maybe try singing that song that Sweeney Todd sings about being reunited with his razor and being full of joy and killing every bearded man in town? Not entirely relatable, but it could do the trick!
Me: I love you.
Anastacia: It might scare your family into leaving you alone! You could carry around Venus razor and flourish it dramatically until they send you home.
