not sure if your tags were serious, but i'm pretty sure the tweets are making fun of white moderates...

ok yeah, I guess they are. (Misread the tone there lol.) But why make fun of white moderates? Like my other tag says, we can use more moderates in general. I don’t mean to say to adopt an attitude of blithely ignorant platitudes and ~positive vibes~ from the immunized privileged as bandaids for gaping wounds suffered by marginalized groups. (For the record, I believe the poor white south in the rust belt is also a marginalized group.) But I do believe there’s been too much vitriol on both sides this election cycle, both sides digging further and further into the depths of their own echo chamber. Self-righteousness is the enemy of empathy and dialogue. Anyone who’s ever been in a fight knows that both parties think they’re right, and yelling louder doesn’t make the other party listen to you more. Both sides don’t have to be mutually exclusive; to silence, villainize or invalidate any side is tyranny. We need to look both ways, and I think it would help to have a side that acknowledges all sides. So yeah. Why not moderates?
