MY LOOK FOR THE EVENING (Swipe to see more) Well, everything that could have gone wrong with my outfit did go wrong. This whole piece was put together literally in 2 days! I decided to go for a black cotton short kurta and jadugar pants with heavy embroidery. I wanted to wear something that was comfortable but at the same time reflected my personality and was bold. Considering the hot weather the cotton silk base was perfect I purposely stated aware from silk and a bandh gala. I knew I would be very busy that evening and I wanted to make sure I was not restricted by what I was wearing. Accessory - My only accessory was my smile and I wore my most comfortable Cuban heel leather shoes. In spite of everything that went wrong I loved how it all came out. Some people hated what I wore and came me and told me I looked like a joker! Oh well what can I say, they don’t have any taste what so ever. STYLING THE ‘DULHA’ (Swipe to see more) I suppose styling @sudhishsunder was the most easiest job. He is a very non-fussy and cool individual who was more than happy to humour me and all my ridiculous demands. I wanted to make sure that his and Ayushi’s @ayushikejriwal look complimented each other without being too matchy matchy. The ‘Bandhi - We decided to go with a classic bandh gala and churidar. The biggest challenge was the colour, after a lot of deliberation we agreed on midnight blue and that looked perfect on Sudhish and it complimented Ayushi’s pink and off white outfit too. Accessories - Black loafers and a tan wrist watch competed the look. Sudish looked very dapper and I will be sharing some videos of him dancing which will show you how good a dancer he is and how comfortable he was. STYLING THE ‘DULHAN’ Everything about @ayushikejriwal’s look was put together in around 2 weeks. Outfit - I dressed her in an embroidered raw silk waist length kurta, a 7.5mt ghera benarsi silk embroidered skirt and a georgette embroidered dupatta. Considering the hot weather I decided to stick to pink, ivory and gold. Jewellery - Getting the beads to match the outfit was a challenge. I added a touch of Meroon along side pink to break the matchy matchy look and give it an another dimension. To balance the meroon I used merron glass bangles as well. We debated about wether she should wear a nose pin or not , eventually we did go ahead with it. The ‘Chandran’ ring added an allure of its own. The Polki Payal completed the whole look. Hair and Makeup - An unkept loose bun with some gorgeous pink flowers, the make up was minimal with a little bit of blush and a bold lippy and a tiny bit of antique gold eye shadow. Footwear - A pair of pencil heel silver sandals. Tip - Her tikka was attached with 4 thin threads so it did not move at all, and the thread was hidden underneath her hair. It was important for me to make sure that the outfit and the accessories did not overpower Ayushi, it was her special day and she needed to feel beautful, confident, happy and most importantly comfortable. I think she looked gorgeous?! It took 4 people and over 89 human hours to finish her outfit but we did manage to get it done on time and to my satisfaction.
