"Nidai! I do not cawe how much you do not enjoy school field twips so you will indeed be attending this one fow once! So you have until the count of thwee to get youw hide out of that bus befowe I dwag you out by the eaw mistew!" Stern and commanding, Usami didn't expect to use this tone of voice so soon. Honestly it was just a little field trip, why did Nidai have to be so difficult about it? He was almost as bad as Kuwata.

"I am not kidding, Nidai, you bettew get youw tail out of that bus this instant ow else!" Now she was really fuming, cheeks a bright red out of anger and cheeks puffed out in attempts to keep her calm. If any other stranger were to take witness to this situation someone would think it was the child telling the adult what to do.

making a new friend!

Well..making friends isn't that hard...right?

She wandered the school trying to find someone to introduce herself to. It was hard considering the crowds and waves of students was most overwhelming. Her talent wasn't any good, though. Her self-confidence had dropped since then.

She noticed a particularly large man, bursting with Spirit. It lit her flame, and she approached him, tapping his shoulder.

"....Uh...Mr...?"

There once was a very lonely dog.

He did all that was asked, even bad things

One day, he was told to punish an unlucky boy, so he growled and snarled and chased that pitiful boy

He cornered that poor boy and the unlucky boy asked  "Why do you chase me?"

"Because my master told me to." replied the dog "and they will hate me if I don't punish you."

The unlucky boy felt bad for the stray dog and said "then take my hand so they are satisfied."

Did the lonely dog take that unlucky boy's hand?

The papers rustled as he flipped to the last page of the string-bound stack of childish drawings. A storybook. It was one of many he had found under the blankets that made up his makeshift bed in the filth room of the orphanage. Where they came from, he wasn't sure, but he kept them all regardless. They were old, that much was obvious, and he wasn't really sure why he had them, but he figured that someone was probably just messing with him.

He tossed the papers into his suitcase, where he kept everything else he owned and had found, and sunk down onto his mound of blankets and ripped pillows with a sigh. 

How did I end up in here again? He thought to himself as he patted the blankets underneath him. They were really more like rags than blankets, but still. It was better than listening to Nidai's snoring. Hell, anything was better than listening to Nidai snore. He liked the guy well enough, but damn. I had better luck sleeping when the train went past our house. He thought with another sigh.

Oh well. 

Even if, since he was in the filth room now, he had to do the laundry, it was still worth it if it meant he could get a full night's sleep. Speaking of laundry...He eyed the pile of filthy clothes by the older, clunky washer and grimaced. How the hell was he supposed to do THAT much in one night? So much for sleep. He sighed, shrugging off his jacket and sling, leaving his broken arm in just the cast. 

Grudingly, and still wondering about the number of crayon-drawn storybooks he had collected, he began his evening chores, It's a shame I haven't really made any real friends here. Maybe then I would at least have someone to talk to me while I did this...He mused, forcing himself to think of something other than the odd storybooks.

Nidai blinked as Chihiro ran into his side at full speed, then noticed her tears. It only took him a few seconds to understand that she was dealing with the same thing as him. “It’s outside, as well. Come on!” He grabbed her - probably a bit too roughly, but once she was under his arm, it was alright - and headed off toward the boys’ common room at a dead sprint.

Chihiro winced as Nidai scooped her up and began sprinting away. Through her tears and the sheer amount of wind blowing in her face, she squinted down the hall and a hunched figure caught her eye. As they quickly got closer and closer, she recognized the figure as the newcomer. He appeared just as upset as she felt.

"N..Naegi!" She called out to him. "Ni..Nidai…I think he h..h…heard the voices too!"

Nidai skidded to a stop long enough to grab the smaller male under his other arm, careful of Naegi’s injuries, and proceeded to sprint off again, continuing towards the common room.

One second he was trying to breathe, the next he was under someone's arm, and the first noise in a long while escaped him. A hoarse, choked scream escaped his lips - though it really wasn't as loud as it could have been - and he struggled frantically to try and get free from whoever (or whatever) was carrying him.

I don't want to replace you! No, let go! He internally begged, tears and sweat rolling down his face as terrified whimpers and yelps escaped him. Please!
