People Can Whisper If They Like
(A/N: AU about Sai has a new singer and writer, going to sing one of his new songs to the people there, who judged him because the name of the song should be sung by a female (women, girl :l ) but by the end everyone is happy that he sung it and it made the feeling for it better. Idk how to summaries)

People in the crowd whispered to each other, some to those they knew and didn’t. “It’s a new band, think their good?” One of them asked, leaning over to grab their friend’s hand.
“Uh- maybe?! I heard the singer was friends with Naruto Uzumaki! And his whole band too!” The friend answered back, a little tipsy from the liquid he had moments ago.
A different group started talking about the lead singer, “Think it’s gonna be a girl?” A teen asked while nodding to background music that always played between songs or different bands or solos.
One of them scoffed at the question, “Of course it’s going to be a girl, the name is literally named ‘Prom Queen’. Are you dum or something.”
“But a guy can be pro-” the soft voice was quickly cut off by the same guy.
“Did none of you read tonight’s information about the songs that will be played, or did all of you just read about a new band that will be playing?!” He shouted, snaking his arms around someone only snatch their drink.
“No, I think all of us read the handfli-'' They were drowned out by the shouts of people around them.
A black haired teen with a red crop top and tight white jeans stepped out of the curtains, the dull lights all turned to him and turned to a bright yellow color, showing the crowd the singer was a male and not a female. Two other people stepped out and got into their own places as the teen picked up a guitar.
“The person and song you all have been waiting for tonight is; Sai and his newly released song: Prom Queen!” A random voice popped in, shouting over the people in the room to make sure everyone heard. “Now! Do not fret! Sai here might look a bit vanilla like but! I reassure you lot that he is better than anyone we had for a long time!”
“Thanks, that doesn’t help my heart at all.” Sai grumbled under breathe, sighing to himself before nodding towards the two people, that the place picked for him, to get ready.
Picking at the string of the new guitar, he started to play a simple back and forth sound while a bass guitar followed suit “Shut up, count your calories. I never looked good in mom jeans.” Sai hummed out softly before the drums hit, “Wish I was like you! Blue-eyed blondie, perfect body.”
Taking a deep breath, the teen quieted down again. “Maybe I should try harder. You should lower your expectations, I’m no quick- curl barbie.” People stood silently for seconds before dancing awfully at the new tune. The people who were upset about it being a guy who was singing didn’t mind any longer, they could think about that later. “I was never cut out for prom queen. If I get more pretty.. do you think he will like me?”
The drums were hit hard once again, taking the air out of everyone as Sai raised his voice with it. “Dissect my insecurities! I’m a defect, surgical project project. It’s gett-ing hard to breathe, there’s plastic wrap in my cheeks.” He belted out before lowering his voice, “Maybe I should try harder- You should lower your beauty standards, I’m no quick-curl barbie, I was never cut out for prom queen.”
“If I’m pretty, will you like me? They say ‘beauty makes boys happy’ ” His voice cracked with a sigh. (People screamed some yes’s and a couple of no’s) He lifted his eyes from the guitar and to the crowd of people, who were dancing, laughing, and trying to copy the lyrics to the new melody. “I’ve been starving myself, carving skin until my bones are showing- teach me how to be okay.”
Sai lifted his head with a smile of his face, “I don’t wanna downplay my emotions-” The drums were hit at the same time the strings of the bass guitar moved, Sai’s own guitar moved roughly with the two. “They say ‘beauty is vain, you’ll only be happy if you look a certain way’ “
Sai stopped, the instruments taking over the song before he softly mumbled, “I wanna be okay…. I wanna be okay.” Slowly the sound of the drums and guitars drifted away with Sai’s voice, the music coming to end before gently dropping one of the guitars onto the stage, as it was before, and bowed, a smile still plastered on his pale face.
Standing straight up, people loudly capped and shouted compliments towards him and the other two members, Sai slightly bowed again before heading for the red curtains. Like before people whispered about him, but this time in a much better way.
