SAIC-GM Sales Company in the Making

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) released on the night of 26th Oct that SAIC and General Motors (GM) China will establish a joint venture sales company tentatively named SAIC-GM Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. The sales company is registered in Shanghai with a capital of 49 million dollars, and the tentative name is subject to change in the industrial and commercial registration. SAIC will own 51% equity by investing 24,990 thousand dollars in cash.

It is said that SAIC and GM have been secretly working on the setting-up procedure since two months ago. Mr. Bin Cai, Vice President of GM, will probably take on the role as first general manager of the new sales company.
