“Eh? What? M-Master, no! I could never..I would...” Beads of sweat ran down her face, the weapon in her hand still pointing at Yumeko. “I shouldn’t...i really shouldn’t, but...” 

“I’m sorry Master!! Please forgive me!” Kiyohime’s finger curled around the trigger with force, activating the firing mechanism..-!

Pssshhh. A thin stream of water flew through the air, splashing against Yumeko and dripping down her face. The water pistol fell to the ground, Kiyohime grabbing Yumeko in a hug. “Waaah! I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Please forgive me!” 

..she’s not ready for summer yet.

Fingers entwined, almost like a prayer, yet her head was lowered- facing the cement ground. “I’m sorry for not being a competent master. I should’ve kept a watchful eye but instead I got distracted— I...” She hesitates; slowly releasing a sigh. “...failed you.” // @ any muse

Each and every battle seemed to get harder than the last in their fight for the future of humanity, yet the Lancer pushed on through them all. No longer just for the sake of humanity, but for the sake of his Master as well. The attitude towards battle from him had shifted significantly, taking each one more seriously than the last - with good reason too. But with that change he was becoming far more reckless than before, more willing to put his life on the line to protect her.

And this time was no different.

It had only been a moment or two, but the Hound watched as something caught his Master’s attention behind him. That moment was all it took for the enemy, a hulking spriggan, to make a move against her. Without a second thought the spearman had almost launched himself in the line of attack, pushing her ( perhaps a little too roughly ) out of the way of the hit, taking the full impact himself instead.

It hurt like hell, but he fought on through it, barely noticing the blood dripping down his face from the wounds. They didn’t matter now, not when victory against it was within their grasp !

Only when the beast no longer moved did the Lancer relax. He looked like a mess, but held no regrets in the fight; except perhaps that it didn’t end sooner. The silence aside from the gentle rustle from trees in the wind was almost peaceful … Almost. It was his Master’s voice that shook him from these thoughts, but what she was saying … He couldn’t really stand for it.

“ Failed me ? What gave you that idea ? Everyone makes mistakes; hell, I could name about a hundred of my own there, so don’t dwell on it too much. “

Every battle was simply more experience learning how they could do better in the next one. She was his Master and he had absolute faith that if she didn’t know that already, then she would learn it soon enough. For now though, they both probably needed rest after such an intense raise in stakes.

“ You’re more than competent, Yumeko. D’ya really think I’d keep fighting by your side if you weren’t ? One mistake like that won’t be the end of the world while i’m around. Besides, it looks a lot worse than it is, so don’t worry yourself too much. “
