“Easy there Uncle Kitty. Easy.” Kwonnie was shocked his little transmutation spell had even worked on the usually sardonic seraph. He was getting stronger it seemed, and the temptation had been too great to resist trying out his sharpening goddess bequeathed skills. Plus, when was it again he would ever have been able to peg some sleeping immortal? As a rule the ever living did not sleep. Not just because the concept was laughable for beings that neither changed nor aged but because of situations just like this. As Goddess Bari had always warned him before sending him on a job:
“Don’t get caught sleeping, least you wanna lose your head.”
The thing was losing your head–literally that is–was game over in this world that was full of creatures like him and Uncle Lucy, things stuck somewhere between light and dark. And now for Lucifer it seemed also stuck between animal and sapien.
“Well I gotta say Unc, I do really prefer your boobs–however you’re definitely a really interesting cat breed. I’m guessing you chose this form yourself, cause I really didn’t have something so exotic in mind when I zapped you and thought to myself CAT. This little experiment is already proving to be enlightening.” Kwonnie slowly set the carrier on the floor. The true test of his power would be if Lucifer could fool other cats in his new fuzzy embodiment. Real cats, not a hyper sensitive and paranormally attuned cat-hybrid. Like his neko Onew would probably smell the angel on dear old Lucy at five paces, and if not that he’d know Lucy didn’t speak cat (since Onew had already explained regular cats had a language all their own.).
Nope, Kwonnie knew he was definitely gonna have to take Uncle Lucy somewhere were they could be immersed in “cat-ness”. Some place like the cat cafe downtown. It was full of plain run of the mill playful and social kitties. It was the perfect place to see if his transmuting ability would hold up on this plain of reality against the real deals. If the cats in the cafe didn’t notice the most notorious angel in the universe tucked into a cat form climbing cat trees with them–then he’d call this little project a success. All he had to do now was get Lucy into this portable kitty taxi.
“Come on now Unkkie Lucy, be reasonable. I just need an hour or two of you being a good little kitty. Don’t fight me on this, OK? Into the the carrier you go. It’s really nice in there. It’s Onew’s old one and he says it’s really spacious. You’re not even half his size as a cat, so it will be like a penthouse in there for you. You’re making a fuss over nothing.”
Yukwon’s words sounded like the biggest insult. The Saja was not exactly know for excessive politeness, but treating Lucifer as a pet was the new low - and even though Morningstar’s shape was currently that of an animal, it didn’t mean he was going to forgive him such a treatment. There was no way.
Stripped of his powers, he was already cursing the moment he let himself feel at ease. Even though it was his own room he unexpectedly well asleep in. Unexpected guests still did happen sporadically and this seemed like one of such times. The male’s smile, when he leant over to pick the cat up, seemed more like a grimace to Lucifer and he did what he could to avoid the hand getting anywhere near his neck.
Naturally, he hissed and exposed his claws - one clean, fast movement of his paw - not like it would do much damage to the immortal he had in front of himself, but in this embodiment he didn’t have much more than his claws and his fangs. But it was enough to distract Yukwon for one slight moment in which he ran through the gap between his legs and left the room.
Through the door and downstairs to the piano bar. This situation required quick thinking. For a moment he was considering hiding in one of the drawers, but after deciding it would be the lost case if Yukwon got the idea about where he was hiding, he chose the top shelf, filled with alcohol bottles.
The bottles were close enough to each other to provide him the hiding place he needed so much right now. With two big leaps he reached the top of it and went behind the bottles. Once there, he curled up, staying as quiet as he could. There was no way he was going to give Yukwon satisfaction.
