Just your average passholder Friday! Whats everyone’s favorite things at the parks? Best park? Favorite ride? Best photo spot? Really enjoyed the festival of arts!! This cocktail is cool and exotic, with tastes of grapefruit, ginger, lemongrass, and the smoothness of sake.

Ingredients: 2 oz sake. 1 oz grapefruit juice. 1/2 oz ginger syrup. 1/2 oz lemongrass-infused syrup. Grapefruit twist, for garnish.

Instructions: Put ice in a shaker and add sake, grapefruit juice, ginger syrup, and syrup with lemongrass in it. Make sure to shake it well until it's cold. Pour into a cocktail glass that has been chilled. Put a grapefruit twist on top.

You probably know I work in the wine industry but you may not know that I’m a HUGE nerd for sake. Thank you so much Monica Samuels and @accidentalbarnyc for having me at this Tozai Summer of Sake virtual tasting seminar! All of these sakes are delicious, but what was new to me was my new favorite cocktail, the matcha maiden! (The Tozai Snow Maiden nigori with matcha powder and optional agave. I’m a matcha purist so I went without.) It’s DELICIOUS. One of my favorite drinks in the world is a martini! I don’t drink them very often, but I still love the luxury of sipping something chilled in a pretty glass! The vodka is harsh on my stomach, so I just love to create my favorite cocktails using dry Sake’ , fresh fruits , herbs and my homemade syrups as the base. This one is rose syrup, fresh raspberries, watermelon and sake’...all frothed up in the @vitamix ! It’s absolutely delicious! Try honeydew, sake’, cucumber, fresh mint leaves and fresh mint syrup or even apple, sake’ , with cinnamon and honey syrup in the fall! How about jasmine tea, fresh quince and tarragon? I think that you’ll like these a lot.
