6. CheeksSal doesn’t have very notable cheeks. Since he has a particularly round face shape, they don’t really stick out very much. He doesn’t have very prominent cheekbones or anything.At most, there’s hints of bags from his eyes dipping a bit into them due to the shape of his eyes.
12. EyebrowsThough they’re not that thick, Sal has pretty long eyebrows. They do a get thicker closer to the middle of his face, but for the most part are pretty average.In his nautiloid appearance, he more has bumps of purple-colored skin with a similar texture to his tentacles, much like Inklings.
13. HairSal’s human fur is a sort of dark brown that’s almost black and is really, really thick and long. He has a sort of ridiculous love of his fur’s length and honestly hasn’t cut it in years. Luckily, his hair seems to work with him for the most part, his bangs naturally going off to the side and usually staying out of his eyes. He tends to keep it tied back into a ponytail with hairbands and scrunchies.To help him keep up his disguise, he bleached the underside of his hair to mimic the white underside of tentacles, and he uses a sort of gel to bunch it all together into tentacle shapes, which he usually holds up in a ponytail. He doesn’t like it, but he is considering finally getting some of it cut so he can just use a tentacle prosthesis instead.As a nautilus, Sal instead had a whole bunch of tendrils- light purple in color -coming off his head from inside his shell. They went upwards of around 86, though his spadix (details) consisted of four of these tentacles. The tentacles’ edges are lined with barely visible grippers with which they can hold onto things with a strength that you’d be more likely to rip the tendril out than get whatever they’re holding. Unless he’s really focusing, they sorta had a mind of their own, so when he was grocery shopping, he could just end up walking through the store and end up with a head full of stuff he didn’t mean to pick up.
15. NoseSal’s nose is pretty short and stubby. It’s a pretty dang round nose. But also, it’s really big and wide.He actually has a massively different nose as a nautilus. In that appearance, he hardly has a nose at all. It protrudes outwards a little on his face in a sort of elongated diamond shape, but it mostly consists of two sort of nostril slits with much flatter ‘nostril wings’ covering them and are more side-directed rather than downward (reference). In his nautilus appearance, his sense of smell is very strong (something that he’s traded in for his extremely poor sight).
