Finally know what I'm going to do about keeping people from traveling off the continent (for now). Will need to think up some new deities now too, but I'll focus on the culture's that are in Salandrine first.

She sat back down on the floor by the table and laid her head between her folded arms. She wanted answers, but with her mind crowded to the point she couldn’t process any of them, she sighed and decided she needed a distraction.
Added 570 words while editing my WIP. Fleshed out the story with some details on magic, social dynamics, and the ancients and the ruins they left behind. Did most of it while showing a bit more of the characters too :)
Wrote 2700 words today! Added 2 chapters. Salandrine gets some wind down time after some pretty rough chapters and some bonding time with Amal. Feeling quite productive!
Today’s writing update
Today was a very good day for writing! I added 3000 words to my WIP Salandrine, writing a rough draft for two chapters and revisiting the next chapter’s outline. Life has taken a turn for the worst for Salandrine, but not all is bad. She gets a geeky bubbly new friend, kisses from her love interest, and more fathering than she'd had during the last 1,5 decade or so. Happy moments indeed!
Aside from that I’ve also improved my magic system. I’d been unsatisfied with it for some time now and it’s been through many different versions, but I feel like I might have found the answers I was looking for! I made another attempt at understanding string theory, am a little less confused, and used that in combination with the original version of alchemy to produce my current magic system. Honestly, it’s perfect, explains everything, and makes it less common power. Actually, it could be classified as science the way it is and will have it be deemed as such by some people/countries/cultures.

YES! Finally writing is going great again! I did some “don’t think just write”-ing for another WIP (paranormal fantasy, possibly romance) and I think it helped to get me back to writing Salandrine again. Fixed some chapters I’d written before but needed to be rewritten/edited, and wrote some new scenes.
Now waiting for my meds to kick in so my brain steps out of la-la-land so I can write this next chapter.
Have been working a lot on picturing the setting for this chapter I'm writing for Salandrine. It's got lots of solarpunk vibes like stained glass which also functions as solar panels, combining aquaponics, tree weaving, and other botanical and agricultural techniques/methods with robot workers. I love the pictures it paints in my head and I know it will lead to some interesting and beautiful descriptions (turns out it's one of my strengths as a writer)!
