I saw your sally face 2 time travel tags on that post you rb-ed from me and thats actually not a bad theory itd fit into the world really well (plus im not sure how you have a sequel when the titular chatacter is super dead as well as most if not all of the side characters)
Yes. Yes. Yes. I was talking with my father this week after Stranger Things finale.
I get why people got disappointed with the end and all. Don't want to shame anyone but that ending was soo better than anything dark content.
I mean, only one of the main characters dies. In Sally Face all minor characters are as good as dead, two main dies, one is crazy and the other traumatized with a ghostly arm.
Like dude. Even with The Red-Eyed Demon being dead the extended ending shows he took 33% of the world population with him.
I am not complaining of the end. I LOVE THIS ENDING BECAUSE IT'S UNEXPECTED.
Like it's realistic. In a world where a Alien Demon with a Cult shows up it's realistic a group of young adults wouldn't be able to stop it or at least they wouldn't be able to stop it without consequences.
It's a bittersweet ending that makes you cry and scream. Perfect for the rhythm of the whole game.
But like, unless it's an Alternative Universe we can redo everything with different lighting or a time travel story I can't see how to move the story forward.
It would be nice to explore the past as Jim or something. But we also would know what happens... I really want Sally Face 2, don't get me wrong, I am just wondering where Steve is going because he put himself in a dead end route basically...
An Alternative Universe, a prequel or time travel seems the safest routes. But for real if its a sequel and Red-Eyed Demon comes back I will scream and cry because Chapter 5 would had being in vain.
But also considering he drinks too much on the Cosmic Horror ideas it isn't impossible to be this because Lovecraft NEVER has a good ending for his characters.
And Steve story is so much like Rats in The Wall from Lovecraft. Like how is the chance of you knowing two stories about a cannibal cult hidden in the basement of a +100 years building that has a Alien from Other Space as their "god"??
The new age average Tumblr user wouldn't had survived Sally Face
1) It's dark content
2) It needs you to go out of your way to get the hidden lore
3) It doesn't give much space for theories because the main lore is pretty clear and the hidden lore that is perfect for theoris is mostly unknown to most
4) Steve doesn't care about ships and let you ship whatever you want
5) It has no mercy with their characters and indeed kill them a death with no coming back
6) A open ending that isn't happy or easy to digest
7) A character suicide was indeed necessary and the only way for things to move forward
Some fandoms here would had try to cancel it because Tumblr is on the verge of being Twitter/X 2.0 with Cancel Culture.
Sally Face would be the favorite for old average Tumblr user:
1) Many ships available
2) Dark content on canon as cannibalism, cult, demons and suicide
3) Characters you can't pinpoint their genre and huge height differences
4) Canon mysteries you need to complete achievements to get
5) Canon use of weed
Sally Face was in the bad luck of being released between Tumblr's transition where it fell into a limb since the first chapters were too light for old Tumblr and last chapters were too dark for new Tumblr. Episode 3 that could be the equilibrium was lost behind other videogames that were released...
Every since the artbook came out we know that Travis have two sisters, Madeline and Mary, but other than that we know nothing about them!
My biggest gripe with this revelation is, to be honest, their age, because it's hard to incorporate them into fandom works without knowing the family dynamics between the three of them!
So since Steve Gabry didn't elaborate further about the sisters, I ask for fandom's opinion on that matter:
what is the age difference between Travis, Mary and Madeleine?
Mary is older, Madeleine is younger than Travis
Madeleine is older, Mary is younger than Travis
Madeleine and Mary are both older than Travis
Madeleine and Mary are both younger than Travis
Mary and Madeleine are twins and older than Travis
Mary and Madeleine are twins and younger than Travis
Travis, Mary and Madeleine are triplets
To be honest, I'm wondering about how big exactly is Devours Of God's influence. The game gives the impression it's more contained to Nockfell, like some sort of local, neighborhood cult, but Sal's case happened in New Jersey - and since the artbook stated Kenneth was responsible for Sal's injuries, it means the DoG followers were travelling across North America to find those 250+ kids that perished during that time.
Imagine Kenneth travelling with his own family in the guise of a family trip so he could personally hunt for the potential "child of the abomination". That he went to amusement parks with his wife and Travis (Madeleine and Mary too?) while actively trying to find the next target.
Imagine a medical staff trying to save Sal's life, seeing all the mess that have most likely an obvious, visible, point of entry. Skull fracture that didn't look like could be made by any animal's jaws. Maybe there was even a residue of gun powder in the tissue and going... yup, it was definitely a dog attack!
The same with Diane - there had to be a coroner/police officers working on her case and they had to come to a conclusion that her injuries couldn't be made by a vicious animal attack and some sort of a weapon had to be involved!
So either the cult's corruption runs deep and they have agents/followers in every institution who actively cover up DoG's activity, or they scrub data post-factum - like in Charlie's case - I think the latter, honestly, especially since if they though Sal to be a potential "chosen one" they could end him at the operating table/post-op but they didn't (the artbook states, they though Sal was a goner so maybe that's why he survived?).
Henry was told it was a dog attack, the man was too shaken up to doubt anything. Sal was a kid thus no-one believe him that, according to him, he and his mother were attacked by a "man with a dog mask". Medical staff most likely chalked it all up to Sal having a serious case of PTSD messing up his cognitive functions.
SO ik I'm not a SF/Sally Face creator but IF! YOU REMEMBER, Sal had no choice to kill everyone in the building, MAYBE Charlie was close to the same thing but, instead of just mass murdering everyone at once, he stopped for awhile and he was close to doing the same thing as Sal?? Do you like my SF theory?
Sally Face Doubt
Guys, I just realized something.
Sally is sentenced to Death right? And most True Criminals that are sentenced to Death stay years on the Death Corridor before being executed.
So why Sally’s Executions feels it was in just a couple of days (maybe even hours) after the end of the trial? Because it probably was considering Ash didn’t had the time to show evidence of the Ghost being real.
The answer to that is simple: The Cult controlled the trial and we already know that considering the substitution of the doctor. But my real doubt here is: How none realized something was wrong?
I mean, if I was the trial of a killer saying “Don’t trust the Government, they are being controlled or are part of the Cult that possessed my family.” I wouldn’t believe most of it. But if I saw that the killer that said to not trust the Government is killed before other killers I would start doubting something:
I doubt I would believe the Cult part, but I would believe in the Conspiratorial Theories that would appear after proving they were trying to shut Sally up. We, in real life, have many examples of people protecting and justifying killers. He saw many Conspiratorial Theories about everything, even the smallest or simplest things. How we don’t see any of this in Sally Face universe? How none maybe believed Sally? Portable Moose could had explored this (and maybe he wanted but didn’t had the time or space for this on the game) but those are outside game explanations.
And the only in game reason I can find is: The Cult influence is higher than we believe and actually see in the game. They can control the whole country at once because there were many news about the Sally Face Killer as we saw in Chapter 3 with his interview!
And then I crossed it with a Youtube comment I saw some year ago that Sanity Falls knows the Cult. The songs talk about what is happening (which is obvious since it was made for the game) but the in game explaining is: they are part of the Cult and their songs are what influences everyone (and maybe even helped prepare Larry to receive the Red Eyes!)
I always thought it was weird that Packerton feeds students human flesh for seemingly no reason. Like, we know she's a part of the cult but it just now hit me that she probably did it to facilitate a new endless one.
