With the big run approaching, I figure it's time I gave out some advice for anyone who plans on participating as a runner. As always, remember to treat the salmonids with respect and don't go past quota if you can help it.
GLOWFLY SWARMS
Stick to high ground. Even better if you find an inked wall or inkrail to stay on, and let the salmonids gather below you. Let your squadmates handle the swarm while you stay safe.
GRILLER SWARMS
If the griller is targeting you, lead it on a wild eel chase. If the griller is NOT targeting you, try your very hardest to stun it. Prioritize the safety of your squadmates, and handle oncoming grillers quickly so they can't pile up. Just surviving isn't enough to reach quota, so do your best.
FOG
Though less overtly threatening, Fog is one of the most dangerous things a salmon runner can encounter. Becoming separated from your team, particularly during a big run, can lead to failure across the board. Communicate actively, conserve ink, and keep an ear out for the calls of your friends and foes alike.
MOTHERSHIP ATTACK
Sending out the mothership is the salmonids' last resort. Minimize harm, take out Chinooks before they can deploy more salmonids, and keep an eye on the mothership. For this attack, it is crucial not to take more than you need.
Remember: Big runs never contain cohock charges, mudmouths, goldie gushers, or tornadoes. Minimize damage, minimize casualties, and come home safe. Stay fresh out there!
