Okay, that post about femininity made me put puzzle pieces together in my head about why I feel comfortable with my feminine cis men ocs.
Let me over-share, infodump, etc. right here.
I have bad memories of being forced into femininity. Bad as in my body still reacts in a stressful way to the memories and mere thought of bad.
Now then. I have a few OCs who are men that present feminine. Well. Two of them that I have art of.
Firstly. Lucius. Say hi to Lucius. He's a stuck-up rake of a man. Also sucks as a person. It doesn't matter to his gender that he sucks -- it matters to his story, which I'll explain a little. His sister Lucy, whom was much more loved than he, is killed mysteriously and Lucius is in danger of being seen as the killer. So, he takes up her identity. He wears her witchy clothes, he responds when her familiar calls him Lucy and when she/her pronouns are used. He's still a man, but he has 0 problem being seen as a girl.
Okay. Now Alice. I was going to place pictures here, but I hate Tumblr's formatting =_=. Alice's femininity is heavily influenced by his fictional identity. His birth name isn't Alice, but it's his name. He's Alice from Alice In Wonderland -- no distinction between what version of Alice, he just is. If you talked about Alice (the character) using she/her, he'd still go "talking about me :)". Now, if you asked Alice what his pronouns are, he's probably go "he/him." I avoid calling him fictionkin or any label even for gender, because part of him is he has no knowledge of any terminology.
It brings me a lot of comfort to have cis men characters who have feminine traits, or dress feminine. Currently, my body is seen as female. I am not out as transgender. I like to wear masculine clothing, but I'm still she/her. Sometimes I see Me as man, Body as girl. It makes me uncomfortable to envision myself as feminine or anything like it. So I guess, having bodily cis male characters have tinges of femininity is... really comforting when I myself do not / cannot!
