Hermann has a family photo of her father and mother ?

There is one in her wallet and a couple that used to hang up in her house but Papyrus had to put any photos with her in them away. It's not that she was blurred out of the photos, but if someone looked at them their eyes refused to focus on her and she always appeared blurry and it would give them headaches. The more someone kinda remembered her, the stronger the headaches and sometimes a sense of loss and sadness.

Papyrus endured it for a while, because they helped him remember what she looked like, even if he had trouble seeing her and he had the worst headaches. But he started to notice that Sans was suffering too. though Sans never admitted it and put on a brave face. So he put the photos away quietly. Sans didn't say anything, but his mood and health improved.

Boatmaster (Hermann's nonbinary, surviving Parent) had many family photos of the three of them- Salsa, Arial Ravi (Hermann), and Boatmaster- but had the same problems and had to take them down for their mental health.

This effect no longer happens when looking at the photos. So perhaps Papyrus and Boatmaster can bring them out and look at them again.

[I don't have designs for Boatmaster or Salsa, I would like to leave that to Trashqueen. Otherwise I would show you one of their family portraits. Maybe later I will edit this post with a family photo]

hermann can dance tango ?

One of her Parents is Salsa Hermann so um... yeah. I will say Dr. Hermann was schooled in many classic dances- but especially Salsa and Tengo. She enjoys dancing but perhaps not as much as her AFAC counterpart. Very serious scientist. Very busy. Not much time for dancing.

Gaster (who is an unpolished dancer but still not bad) is the one who gets her to break out and cut loose (foot loose).

I realize that I made all the skelefam good at dancing. This probably isn't true for at least AFAC Gaster. I picture him as awkward and with two left feet, only dances when Hermann drags him into it. I could make Hermann like that, but I don't wanna! So I opted to give her more formal training- making her dancing less spontaneous and a little more restrained.

RP Gaster is more prone to do more wild things on the dance floor and be really confident about it. And confidence is really important in dancing. It helps you lose yourself in the rhythm and have fun. Not to Say that RP Gaster is without insecurities- he's riddled with them. A lot of what he does is like a mask to hide it. But while Dr Gaster poured himself into work, RP Gaster distracts himself by being a goofball.

So, since you swapped Alphonse and Axel being dead with Freja and Valorie being dead, does that mean that Semi and Century Gothic died in the tunnel collapse and Boatmaster and Salsa Hermann are alive?

Salsa Hermann Died of sickness when Dr. A.R. Hermann was a teen. (That's what happened to Century Gothic in AFAC) Boatmaster is still Alive. I picture Boatmaster becoming withdrawn and melancholy after the death of their vibrant partner Salsa. Thus becoming a little colder than normal.

But unlike Semi, Boatmaster warms up to Gaster quickly and enjoys his comedy sketches. After finding out that Gaster is an orphan, Boatmaster treats him like a son and takes him under their wing with the whole river person deal. Boatmaster was a robotics engineer but did the ferry thing as a hobby(I mean with a name like that I had to keep that a thing, lol) Boatmaster is retired and left the science to Hermann and the Boating to Gaster.

Except, you know. Gaster "died" and Hermann got "erased from memory." Before that, Boatmaster knew Sans and Papyrus, their grandkids. And spoiled them like any good grandparent does. But when Hermann was erased, Boatmaster forgot what their connection was to them.

Furthermore, Boatmaster, feeling something essential missing, became very depressed. Normally, they would have taken Sans and Papyrus in, even if they didn't remember why. But, in their condition they knew they could not properly care for two young skeletons. That's why they're not a part of Sans and Papyrus's life right now.

The memories will start to return and maybe Boatmaster will come find them. But there is a certain level of guilt holding them back. They will feel guilty for not being there for Sans and Papyrus (even though it's not Boatmaster's fault).

Semi and Century Gothic did die in a tragic tunnel collapse. Semi would still probably find a way to think Dr. Hermann is stupid and uncultured. Century Gothic would probably be warmer to her.
