We found this while laughing hilariously, Ok Ok, giggling like girls (in our defense we were all a bit drunk) reading Salty Droid's latest blast at his and our favorite loon Crystal Cox (more will be written when we aren't so *hic*). Our first thoughts were "OMG that's three dudes", then we had a closer look, drunk some more, and figured out after much debate.

“Is Social Media Getting Sleazy?” Neicole asked last year a question which inevitably sparked the fury of A-listers online.

Names previously published were omitted in the updated post, which is rather ineffectual since Salty Droid already dropped names of those involved. These A-listers have not only grown online armies through strategic (and sleazy, sez Neicole) social media, they’ve created digital products priced to maximize profits.

It’s quick to hype about products through Facebook and Twitter. Just get more Likes and RTs from your flock and you’re good to go! As a consumer myself, it’s not always easy to avoid hype. I once paid for a service recommended by a friend only to find out the product doesn’t deliver.

What to do to avoid falling for hypes?

Start with reading exposés on sites like The Consumerist. Salty Droid writes kickass posts about get-rich-quick schemes online too.
