I AM MAD!

The only reason to ask for rent from a friend in need when you yourself have excess is pride or selfishness. You can mutually donate to house funds like Asra totally does the whole time bringing you thinks to make spells with and ingredients to sell. He contributes to the house like a house mate! you easily afford the lot you live on! Your shop is bustling and this person is supposed to be someone you love. Even if you aren’t in love with him, or doing his route, the MC is supposed to view him as a dear friend or even family?

If you don’t need more money so that you can both stay in the house then why do you expect him to pay you to stay in your house? Co-paying rent is for when you need it. And I think it’s honestly pretty gross to demand your homeless friend pay you money you don’t even need after the frankly hard, disgusting overwhelming work of caring for a catatonic person with a magical affliction and no memories to draw on. you were vulnerable as a babe in a crib. but unlike a baby you probably weighed min 100lbs. Asra is not a large person. I can only hope Muriel helped because hospice care is really physical work. 24/7 for however long it took to teach back to fully functioning adult. Within 3 years.

I know people don’t like him as a character but making him pay rent is so controlling and unlikable. you want the MC to be a landlord? Gross.

This is from Mr Loverman with Jamil/Valerius — this was probably the first line I wrote for that fic and built everything else around it, it just holds so much weight to me and I love it in the context of the fic

In the middle of the night, Leon, somehow, had wormed their way between her and Jamil, one of their hands clutching at his shirt, head tucked under his chin. And, she realized, when she went to move her own hand, that their fingers were laced with hers.

Two lines technically but this is from Show Your Fangs with Camia and Jamil, and their first meeting with Leon. This particular bit is from the end section and it makes me so soft to think about the three of them curled up together I just 🥺

And as he walked away—wrapping Camia’s scarf around his head—for the first time in well over a decade, Leon woke up alone.

This one is from The One Who Stayed and the One Who Left again with Jamil, Camia, and Leon, but this is the moment Jamil decides to leave them behind on his search to get Alec’s memories back - this was another line that I wrote first and then built the fic around it because it hurt so good
