Veterans Day was a strange one for Steve. He tended to avoid making appearances in public, didn't want to draw attention away from the others. But he and Sam had made an unspoken tradition of watching the sunset together. "On your left," he joked, as he approached. He slipped an arm around her shoulders as he came to stand beside her. "How you doing, kid? My buddy treating you right?" he asked, his smile genuine and soft.
