I don't write about food issues because I'll rationalize them. But the samisa size difference has a lot of noteworthy undertones I want to hit. Something about the way Sam emphasized the size, large, when Mike shrunk that sweater has stuck itself in my brain like a piece of chewed gum. They're not small guys. They shouldn't be. Hockey has a huge culture of using and adapting your body for the style of play and the game you want to be a part of. Everyone brags about the ten or twelve pounds they were able to put on despite constant cardio. Eating right within this known context also means eating constantly. Train right so you can throw the newfound weight around more efficiently. Being big is has been will be consistently something to brag about. Height is built in. encoded somewhere you can't find a back door to break in and rewrite. but weight is different. A variable that needs to be changed and tested and pushed to its limits at times. For Sam to fit his sleeves he has to size up. wearing a large or extra large when his waist probably fits a medium just fine. By then it's almost an impulse to fill the space. Bulking and training is something to do. expected of him. Focusing on upper body a little more than necessary so his shoulders actually fill his shirts instead of jutting out from under them. Letting the lines of his gangly body soften with strength
I dunno. Misa doesn't have that compulsion
