After dealing with Tony and having to be pulled away before he gave Tony a good reason never to show his face again, Sam was on the brick of nerves. He was shortly coming up and this was the last thing on his mind was singing but he had to do this. Not for the air time on HBO but just to make sure that Santana and Brittany were having the best day of their lives.
