I received an email a couple of weeks ago from Grapefruit Records (Omaha, Nebraska) announcing the release of The Disassociation "Losing is a Luxury". There was literally nothing about the release. So, I had to go into sleuth mode. I found a video of the single "Losing is a Luxury" on YouTube and it had the following information:
The Disassociation is an artist collective comprised of writers, painters, sculptors, and filmmakers who also have a foot in music. Author Jonathan Lethem, Artist Amy Maloof, DJ Sam Sousa, along with writer/publisher Mark Givens of the band Wckr Spgt and all five members of the band Refrigerator have collaborated and recorded a record together. This is the title track.The record is out on Shrimper on March 23, 2025. This is the title cut, video directed by Dennis Callaci [co-founder of Shrimper and Refrigerator along with brother Allen].
From what I can tell Dennis Callaci and Shrimper Records. are based in Upland, California. The Disassociation are a collective so my guess is not all members are in Upland.
