Adelaide, a band who I have loved for about two years now, announced that they're splitting up this morning. I feel pretty sad about it - they are SUCH talented, amazing guys who have worked so hard in their band but have never quite made a break.
I'm gutted, to be honest. I saw them live in Sheffield in 2010 to a crowd of about 50, but they were great. It was the first real gig I ever went to and it was the time of my life. Ever since that night, I have vowed to myself that I will see them live again but the shows were never close enough, money was always too short and it never happened.
I feel like I've seen them through a lot - lineup changes, being picked by Tom DeLonge to play Slam Dunk (I genuinely thought that would be their break - Francesqa won the year before and I hoped the same would follow for them) and this year's Red Bull Bedroom Jam, which they only didn't make through the final stage.
They ended their message with "After a change of line up along with a collection of other factors we feel it's time to leave the past behind and start something new" and I hope there is something new.
