Maybe bringing Ruby on their annual Vegas trip wasn’t a good idea. It was certainly ruining the mood with Dean, but honestly, Sam hadn’t been able to help himself. When the plans were made he’d just suddenly gotten this idea that maybe Ruby might enjoy it. What could he say? He liked her around really, even despite the animosity between her and his brother.
What he hadn’t expected however, was that after a few hours of drinking and gambling, during which he had won quite a bit without being too suspicious, he had suddenly found Ruby standing before him. An expression of pure determination on her face as she spoke those very unexpected words. He’d barely had time to register what she was saying, his mind being slower than usual with all the alcohol in his system.
Blinking a little, he looked down at the ring in his hand and then shifted his gaze back up at her, a small smile forming on his lips as he let her drag him along towards the chapel. Honestly, it didn’t even cross his mind that his might be a terrible idea, because by the time they got to the chapel, he was already convinced that this was the perfect plan. He liked her, she seemed to like him well enough so ... why not, right?
At the chapel, he stopped her for a moment. “Stay here ...” He turned and took a few steps before turning back toward her. “Don’t move.” With a grin on his lips he walked over to the flower salesman next to the chapel, buying a small bouquet of red roses before joining Ruby once again and handing them over. “Can’t have a wedding without flowers, can we?” He a wide smile on his lips as he reached for her free hand, wanting to walk in hand in hand.
