hi y'all, i figured since i cleared some post outta my likes i should come here and address my beautiful followers. idk if literally anyone will care but i know i did say my hiatus before watching deep space nine would be brief and it's now been like, over a year. i do want to watch the show at some point but frankly i just don't watch any tv shows anymore. it's such a time-suck, it literally took me a year and a half to watch tng. so starting that kind of commitment for ds9 scares me. but i will at some point!

i also generally don't use tumblr nearly as much as i used to which is why my posts here are sporadic and sparse. but i have not and will not abandon this blog or tumblr completely. i'm just not around as much.

but i still love star trek, tos and tng (hell even tas. aos can stay) and will happily yap about it at any time :)

trekkie thrift things i've found: a very belated post

long-time followers of mine might remember i used to more regularly post trek things i found/bought while thrifting. i got lazy and stopped remembering to post them but i've been hoarding the pictures. so here's a collection in no particular order:

first: this quark head piggy bank! i included my head for scale. this thing scared me

next is this collection of wrappers from chocolate bars that promoted the First Contact movie. just the wrapper, no chocolate. i almost got a Troi one

these two figurines made me laugh because of how specific they are. i barely remember picard disguising himself as a romulan

then there's this shuttlecraft clock radio

this has a bunch of short novelization of several episodes, they had others but this one had the most banger episodes, including taste of armageddon so obviously i got it

and lastly, this poster. i was at this big estate sale and this was sort of hidden in the back corner. it wasn't technically for sale but the guy did offer it to me. i didn't buy it but i found it really funny

my trip to the Original Series Set Tour!

for those of you who don't know, there's a place in Ticonderoga, New York (very random location) that has a walkable recreation of many of the Enterprise sets from The Original Series. it's a super faithful recreation with a mix of original props and recreated ones. a lot of the TOS cast members have been there, i think my tour guide said Shatner had been there 12 times?

my mom recently took me as a belated Christmas gift since it's only about a three hour drive from where i live. i have way too many pictures to fit into one post but i thought i would share the highlights!

firstly, there's a big lobby with both a fun gift shop and multiple display cases that have original props and costumes from mostly TOS but some from TNG as well. some of my favorites:

real followers know i'm a huge Roberta Lincoln stan. i let out an audible gasp when i saw this. i had my mom take my picture with it.

there was way more than that but you get it. now on to the actual set tour. there are different levels you can purchase so we got the basic one, meaning no videos and you could only pose with certain things. but it was still really cool to see, it genuinely felt like walking into an episode. i kept picturing myself as one of the actors coming to my cue.

engineering! the warp core was really beautiful.

lastly, the hallway and the bridge! the bridge was definitely the coolest part, apparently a lot of the cast members get very emotional when they see it. they let us sit in the captain's chair!

anyway i have like one billion more photos that maybe i'll post another day. if you live anywhere near Ticonderoga and are a Trekkie you should absolutely go, it was such a fun and unique experience!

okay i know it’s been a while since i’ve posted anything about my next generation thoughts since i’ve been watching so sporadically but. why won’t geordi and data kiss already.

like. barking and chewing the walls etc.

society if i had the time or capabilities to write a fic where ro laren comes back to starfleet from wherever she was (i’m not there in tng yet) and slowly learns about the story of sito jaxa and pieces it together and just. gets insanely angry. as is her right.

imagine if spock coming back to life hadn’t really worked. he’s clearly not himself for a while but it seems to wear off within a few weeks and the arc takes place in a fairly lighthearted comedic movie.

you want khan to be wrathful? you want that to have real stakes? you want a no-win scenario? have spock come back wrong. his eyes are always a little vacant and he doesn’t find anything fascinating. his neck-pinches do more than just incapacitate you. he barely remembers his friends.

make him wrong. make him gangly. make him tilted.

kirk would be clawing at the ground to figure out what was wrong. he already sacrificed everything for spock and it wasn’t enough. what more would he be willing to do? what else is there to burn?
