Reflection #7: The wage gap… how is this still a thing?
How is it possible that we have such advanced technology and better forms of acceptance in one another, yet women are still treated less than men. I find it baffling that it took the US so long to realize women are not props but can work just as hard as men. Women are able to contribute to the community the same as men, however for the same work women get paid less than men. Some may say they are pro equal rights among all but do not advocate for equal pay as seriously as they should. Being paid less because of one's gender and/or race should not be a thing in 2018. We have built robots and yet are still living in the past by treating women as less than men. It makes me so angry that we can put a man on the moon, but cant give women equal pay for the same job as men. No matter what gender, race, and/or ethnicity no one deserves to be paid less than the other for the same job.
