me: he's mean in a nice way if that makes any sense. his real ire is reserved for the grade a pieces of shit. me: he seems to get peeved easy but not angry. and that's understandable, seeing as to how he's been playing supercop simulator for the past however many years. i think he can be a little mean, as a treat! but he's still barney, the dude who saw his best buddy ever in 20 years and was instantly like "omg hiiii hi hi hi it's me it's barney rememeber!!" and had like 300 billion people on his bar tab. sin: like. ep1 spoilers: he reprimands gordon in ep1 for letting himself get followed by scanners because it jeopardized the resistance's evacuation efforts but still helped him escape unharmed yknow? he'll tell you to your face that you fucked up or that something is wrong, but he wont make you suffer for it. me: YEAH LIKE "god fucking dammit this could've ruined everything we've worked for. dw buddy we'll fix it, here's what you gotta do." he keeps momentum. me: i also think a lot of what we see of his personality in hl2 is just the fact that he has to be incredibly stressed out. when plans start really going into motion, especially plans like the resistance has, everything is pretty much gogogogogo until you succeed or fail. so barney's gonna make absolutely fucking sure they succeed. me: i also think he's the type of guy to not entirely know what to do with praise, not in the sense that like "this never happens to me im gonna freeze like a deer in headlights" but more "i don't know whether or not i actually deserve this so i'm just gonna play it off casually."

in the most non-weird way possible seeing ur dogs rlly cheered me up! my dog was a mutt but she had the same kinda wirey hair ur dogs do, and she died p recently so seeing dogs that looked so similar doing her favorite activity (sleeping) made me rlly happy. sorry if this is weird i just wanted to share :)
