👵🏽 First fic: on AO3 it's All These Things That I've Done (from my tenth doctor rp blogging days on here, many moons ago 🙈) but the first one i ever wrote and published was a terrible self-insert waterloo road fic that's probably still somewhere in the depths of ff.net 15 years since i started it 😬
👶🏽 Last fic: depends on what you mean? last fic i updated was warm water, and the last standalone one of sorts (it belongs to the same series as ww) i posted was dangerously easy! i was a bit - no, very - rusty when i first started the former, and i'd like to hope i've got a bit more into the groove of writing again since?

📚 Fav fic from fandom/ship with most works: i'm counting ncis as the fandom with the most works in, as i don't write for the james bond that 99% of other people do (which has loads more works than ncis)... but i'm kinda proud of need you now?

😩 Agonized over: oh god, everything i write 😂 reflections i agnoised over because i wanted to make sure i wrote hedison!felix properly and got the end of the licence to kill straight both in my head and on the page here too..
💡 Sprang fully formed: sink or swim, like it's always been - i had the idea for it when this song played whilst i was baking and i managed to get the fic down in the space of an hour?! needless to say this hadn't happened before and hasn't again since lmao
🏆 Proud of: hunting high and low! the song it's named after/references throughout still sucker punches me every time i hear it because it's perfect for these two idiots 🥺

feat. part of the final chapter of domino dancing, with a couple of lines nicked/adapted from fleabag that i couldn't resist using...

it's only taken me until today to realise that i completely missed wip wednesday this week 🤦🏻♀️ but i'm finally working on the last chapter of domino dancing, so here's a snippet from that!
Once their dinner plates have been cleared away, the three of them continue putting the world – particularly the part of it that involves their elected masters – to rights. The last round of drinks came in five minutes before their main course, so by the time they’re finished agreeing upon how ministers could be infinitely more effective in too many ways to count, they’re desperately in need of a top-up.
Kate glances towards the bar that sits about ten metres away from their table to check that it’s not too busy, then does a double-take.
The bar itself is shaped like a rectangle, with a barman facing them and the opposite half of the room. An equally rectangular set of lights hangs from the ceiling above it, casting a low, pale glow down on the bar staff and punters either standing there waiting for their order or perching themselves upon the stool on each of the four sides.
It’s the familiar sight at this very bar, smack in front of their table, that makes Kate immediately stop what she’s doing.
She’s not sure if it could be considered an achievement or an embarrassment that she could describe every single minute detail of the man who stands right there, between two empty bar stools, with her eyes closed. It doesn’t matter what angle she can see him from – the way he leans an elbow against the top of the bar is enough to give him away.
However, if asked, she could tell you about the lock of soft, dark hair that curls up perfectly behind his ear; or how just last week she finally worked out that there’s a spot halfway down the left hand side of his neck, which when kissed, unlocks a cacophony of sounds that make her swear she’s stumbled into heaven. There’s also the jawline that looks as though he’s a living, breathing Michelangelo sculpture, and the dimple that appears in his chin the second he flashes her a grin that never fails to make her knees weak…
One of the only things she can’t put into words, though, is just how good one small, often unexpected move from his rough, calloused hands makes her feel. It’s always right as she catches herself thinking there surely can’t be any more tricks up his sleeve that he never fails to prove her spectacularly wrong.
