The moment I saw your muse’s response to my ask, I had to make this one-panel comic of my own muse responding. Smug Classic is smug, and Sayako and Maiko are thinking: who the crap is she talking to?
Classic, are you sure that’s a good idea? Ah, whatever. Since when has she ever thought anything through?
Anyways, it’s fine. No need to apologize. I like your interpretation of Ra Moon. I just wanted to snark at Ra Moon.
Reaction to the newest update for Ask Light Labs. @waitingtorespawn (you are the person who runs that blog, right?)
I’ve still yet to create Samira!Sonic … but that’s off-topic.
I was legitimately surprised that Quint still has his copy chip, however I’m also very pleased. That does make me wonder why he uses that …jackhammer …pogostick … (I know it’s called Sakugarne) instead of copied weapons …or are you going to have him use copied weapons? Who knows? That’s the fun thing about ask blogs turned story, and ask blogs in general: you never know what’s going to happen next.
Classic: What happens when fantasy is all you know? What happens when you know nothing of where you came from?
Classic: What happens when you dwell within the barrier between realities? Do you matter? Do your actions have effect?
Classic: For as long as I can remember, I’ve lived here, in this place known as “The Void.” I’ve seen glimpses of other worlds, worlds that exist, and then fade; some return, some don’t. Some even …stop. Like a battery dying, a flick of a switch.
Classic: Some are more familiar than others. Others are completely foreign. And yet, when I look at some, I’m filled with a sense of longing, a nostalgia.
Classic: A sadness.
Classic: I remember waking up, knowing only one thing: Samira.
Classic: Who is Samira? I always assumed that was my name, but my friends – Reploid, UT, Sonira – they all felt it was their name, too.
Classic: We share the same face. Our voices are different, and we aren’t really twins, but …there’s something familiar about each of them. Each of us. I know the others feel the same way.
Classic: I can leave this place – I’ve done so before – but I’m never me; I’m always …a shadow.
That’s what you get when you taunt an ancient machine who hates humans, Classic.
My personal headcannon for what happened was that a portal appeared over Classic while she was taunting Ra Moon, so she ended up in their world without realizing it. (it’s canon to the series that that’s something that happens to her. Just read her character profile.) So, instead of a non-physical void-shadow, she appeared in the actual world she was interacting with. (and it was at that moment that Classic realized she had *censored* up.)
I think I mentioned at some point that Classic doesn’t tend to think things through.
Yeah, and she’s starting to shape up as being the prime candidate for the title of “main character” of Void Squad. Make of that what you will.
Also, those two new individuals in the background? That’s Hayate (a character from Wonderland Online) and Shadow Man (the Robot Master from Mega Man), who in this blog are from my connected worlds AU, just like Sayako and Maiko.
I really need to make character sheets just for the sake of having a place to give more information on the characters I put in this blog, not just my muses/askonas.
(I want to give them each their own page, but I don’t know how to make that work)
Also, just a bit of behind the scenes information I want to bring up: you see the glasses on the anons? Those ear pieces? Yeah, I don’t think whoever initially created the sprites for the game these come from (Norn Saber Online) finished them, but they’re technically an item in the game so heck do I know? Maybe they just weren’t meant to be seen on a character without some kind of hair?
I’m probably going to just erase the ear pieces at a later point in time - that or make them feel more complete by adding the missing ear pieces. The hat pieces are usually easier to edit since many of them technically share the same models.
Excuse my garbage “laying on back” sprite. It’s a modified sprite from the original 100+ sheet.
Void time =/= real time
The Void ...well ...let’s just say the perception of time when viewing other worlds from within is ...odd. It can either be faster or slower than the “actual” speed of time.
In other words, what seems like five minutes within the Void might be two seconds or an entire year outside the Void.
@waitingtorespawn Yup. Cue the sound of a million evil trees and flytraps stampeding across the Void.
Well, at least Reploid found Classic.
Sayako and Maiko are not from the Void. They are actually from a universe that I call the Connected Worlds AU. Void Squad is actually a part of it, but it’s more of the meta world.
Sayako and Maiko live in the world that’s a combination of Norn Saber online and the Mega Man Classic worlds, i.e they’re the same world in their universe.
Sayako’s the one that acts goofy, while Maiko’s the serious one.
