So …I decided to make a little snapshot of the aftermath of the role play @iiregularhunter and I did (are doing? Not sure if it’s finished yet) once Reploid returns to the Void.
Decided to start calling Classic and Reploid by their nicknames instead of calling them “Samira!(insert verse here)”.
…Holy crap.
I was honestly not planning on Reploid being the one who killed Velvet.

What’s worse about the entire situation is that Reploid knew Velvet was going to die, because as an Asker she can see things and get knowledge that’s not yet known in the canon of a blog. I honestly think that, if she ever did need a reason for appearing in that universe, it was to try to stop Velvet from dying, to try and talk her down peacefully.
I, as the mun of Reploid, had no intention of that ever succeeding even in the off-chance Zero and Velvet’s mun had decided to retcon their decision.
The entire situation however, in that case, is harshly ironic. You go in to save someone, only for them to end up dead at your hands.
Hayate and Shadow Man aren’t strangers to death - they’ve both killed. They’ve done assassinations. But the thing is this: they know that’s because it’s their job, and they’re honestly fine with that. They know their job might entail killing another living being, human or otherwise. Reploid’s doesn’t. Reploid isn’t a Maverick Hunter; she’s an Asker. She doesn’t fight often, and even when she does “kill” something - like those evil trees and flytraps that chased Classic - those things simply vanish and respawn. They don’t truly die. Reploid isn’t used to seeing things or people go down and stay down - Hayate and Shadow Man are.
Even worse, Reploid wasn’t fully in control of herself, not in the sense most people would be. When Reploid sees someone she cares about in danger of dying, she goes into a state where nothing, and I do mean almost nothing, can slow her down. Arm lopped off? Bah! Just a flesh wound! She doesn’t need both hands to use that scythe of hers! Nothing else matters: just the target.
This is fine and good when your enemies aren’t individuals who revive after they die, but when death is final? Tragedy will occur, sooner or later.
