Very sad news: Dorothy "Dottie" Hawkins Ault passed a few days ago, http://ht.ly/nn4q30koHPb. A graduate of SaMoHi (Santa Monica High School), Dottie was a pioneering figure in paddle boarding and widely admired and loved. We have two images of her from our archives. In the first one from 1940 with a couple of friends, she is on the left at Santa Monica Pier, and in the second from the 1940s with fellow Members of the Manoa Paddle Board Club, she's on the bottom right in the dark swimsuit. RIP Dottie.
