Extremely unlikely, but it would be interesting;

Kill Code Moon has consistently insisted that Moon and Lunar are his. He shows aggression to everyone, particularly Monty who is trying to rescue them. What if this is KC's deranged attempt to protect them?

The outside world is dangerous and everyone keeps causing the boys' emotional distress. If KC takes over the body, Moon and Lunar would be 'safe'. If everyone is dead or pushed away, no one will harm the boys.

Moon and Lunar are unhappy right now; but once KC has completely affirmed their 'safety', then he can work on making them content and loved.

They are his and no one will ever hurt them again.

Unlikely but it would be hilarious;

Bloodmoon shows up to mess with and/or kill Moon, but upon meeting him quickly decide they will not engage. They love blood of human and machine, but kill code Moon is just a level too far. They just nope out of it.

Super super unlikely, but if the thought amuse me greatly
