See You in Austin by Dakota Striplin
After hours on FaceTime, he decided it was time to put it all out in the line.
You and Drew had only been dating for about two months and when he got the job for Outer Banks you were obviously very supportive. The only thing that was gonna be hard was that the filming location was quite the plane ride away. Drew was very adamant on wanting to make it work though and you were not opposed; you really liked him. “We’ll call and text all the time,” he told you at the airport as he went in for a hug. You were tearing up a little bit into his chest as you held onto him, “I’m gonna miss you Drew.” He let go and put his hands on either side of your face and kissed the top of your head, “I’ll miss you too. I have to go now though.” He hugs you again, tightly and when he pulls away, he kisses you as tears fall down your face. “Don’t cry, we’ll see each other soon, I promise,” and with that he goes in for one last kiss and heads farther into the airport with you watching him go.
Later that night you get multiple snapchats from Drew. When you open the app you see that they’re all videos he’s sent you. “What up babyyyy just landed and waiting for them to let us off the plane!” In the next one he’s singing what he’s saying, “I’m getting off the plane, getting off the plane. I am. Getting. Off. The plane. Off the plane,” which you laugh at. “Now I’m waiting for my bag,” then he whispers, “someone’s staring at me, I’m scared they’re gonna take my bags.” “I’m in the car! No bags were stolen!” “I’m in my hotel room! I’m laying on the bed,” then he gets quite and a little upset it seems, “I wish you were here with me, hopefully you can come out soon.” And that’s the end of his snapchats, they must’ve all sent once he connected to the hotel wifi, you think to yourself. You decide to send him a text instead of snapchatting back.
y/n: seemed like your flight went well, along with the whole trip to the hotel lmao
Drew: it was lol hope you enjoyed the snaps
Drew: wanna FaceTime?
y/n: always
Three weeks later and things were still going well with Drew. You knew he wouldn’t be able to FaceTime everyday, but he made up for it with texts and snapchats when he could. That’s how you knew he cared for you, that even when he couldn’t give you his attention, he still did his best to give it. You were the same too, school was really on you right now, and Drew knew that. Sometimes when you’d FaceTime you would just be in each other’s company. You could be working and writing papers and he just wanted to be able to see you and be with you. When you were both absolutely free though, he would sometimes want to schedule that the two of you cook the same meal and eat together regardless of the time difference, so it felt like you were actually together.
y/n: you free tonight?
Drew: yes! Can we both have pasta?
y/n: lmao yeah
y/n: call me whenever you’re able to, I’m not doing anything all day
Drew: I’m gonna have to call you while making dinner or after, is that okay?
y/n: yeah of course that’s fine! Let me know when
A few hours later, when you were making pasta, your phone started ringing; Drew was FaceTiming. “Hi Drew!” “Hey! How’ve you been? How was your day?” “I’m good, everything’s good. How’s filming and everyone?” “It’s so fun, I still can’t believe I’m doing this,” Drew said smiling, “everyone says hi by the way.” You had gotten to know some of his castmates given the amount of time he spends with them, and the amount of time and attention he insists on giving you. “Hi back,” you laughed, “I’m almost done making dinner. Did you finish already?” “Yeah, I finished a few minutes ago, don’t rush though, I don’t mind waiting till your done.”
The following weeks went on just like that. Then before you knew it, it was your five month anniversary with Drew. You really wanted to fly out and see him since neither of you had made a trip yet, but he told you not to because of how busy his and your schedule was, and he especially didn’t want you more distracted from your school work. You appreciated how much he cared for you and your schooling, he knew how much it meant to you, but school wasn’t distracting enough to make you forget about how much you missed him. You even voiced that to him, “I promise I won’t be distracted and I won’t distract you, I’ll stay at your place while you film and do my work and when you’re back from filming we’ll spend time together,” you finished and pouted. “Don’t look at me like that babe,” he laughed, “I’m not worried about you distracting me, because I wouldn’t mind that,” he smirked. “Hey,” you said and laughed. He laughed again, “I just don’t want your school work to suffer because you’re here and wanting to spend time with me. I’d rather that you waited until you had a break from school so you could come to the sets with me and experience filming with me,” he smiled, knowing that he got through to you. “Fine,” you huffed, “then when it is our anniversary next week, can we have dinner together like usual?” “Yeah, I was gonna say we can do that, and then once we’re together we can go out,” he smiled, “I really miss you though and wish we could actually see each other in person again.” “I know, but I have a break next month so I’m gonna try and come see you.”
It was the day of your anniversary and you and Drew were texting each other all day. Neither of you could FaceTime until dinner since you had exams coming up you had to study for, and Drew obviously was filming all day. You had gotten dressed up nice so you didn’t have to change once you finished dinner since you wanted to call Drew dressed all nice as soon as possible. Just when you were about to start cooking dinner, Drew was FaceTiming you. “Happy anniversary babe!” “Happy anniversary Drew!” “What are you making?” “I was just about to start making pasta, ya know, it’s a little simpler while I’m studying and stuff.” “I was gonna have pasta too!” You laughed at his enthusiasm over the two of you having the same meal. “By the way, I sent you something that said it was delivered a couple hours ago. Can you check and see if it’s at the door?” “Yeah, sure. So how was your day,” you ask as you head towards the door. “It was good, just a little tired though.” “Yeah I bet, you’re like constantly filming.” “Yeah but not just because of filming,” he said as you were unlocking the door to open it. As you were opening the door you asked, “why? What happened today?” When you opened the door he said, “I was on a plane coming to see my girlfriend.” And there he was, standing right in front of you for the first time in three months. You dropped your phone and jumped into his arms and wrapped your legs around him as he held you. “I couldn’t not see you for another day,” he whispered into your hair and kissing your neck as you cried into his shoulder. “I missed you so much, Drew. I missed you so much,” you whispered back into his neck. Once he put you down, he grabbed the sides of your face and kissed you, finally. You stayed in your doorway for a few moments kissing him until he pulled away said, “glad I got here before you started cooking because I may have made a reservation for us downtown,” she slyly smiled at you. “You’re pretty amazing, you know that,” you said and gave him a quick peck. “Before we go though, I have to tell you something.” You looked at him strangely, “what?” He had a large grin on his face, “I love you, so much.” You grinned back at him just as wide, “good thing that I love you too then,” which made the both of you laugh before he leaned in to kiss you once more. “Okay, let’s get going then shall we.”
Description: A mission takes a terrible turn, and this is the outcome. Aka: Mitch is terrible at giving bad news.

A/N: Hello, everyone! This is my very first fic ever written for Mitch/this blog and I am very nervous to share it. I hope you enjoy it, and your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am open to taking requests, should you have any! (-:
Your fingers danced in the water pouring from the spout of the bathtub, waiting for the water to heat up enough for you to switch it over to the shower head. You felt like it was taking forever, slowly winding its way through the pipes of the presumably old hotel with less gusto than even you could muster right now. Just as you were about to resign yourself to a cold shower the temperature picked up and you fiddled with the knob for a second before pulling the little stopper. The shower head kicked on, sputtering before thin steady streams began pounding against the floor of the tub.
With a grimace you tugged the tattered remains of your black henley over your head, dropping it into the sink with a wet splosh. You were soaked, head to toe, in various liquids. Rain. Blood, some yours some others. Sewer water, good for your cuts you imagined. Gasoline. And maybe a few of your own tears were straggling on your cheeks. In all, you felt disgusting.
Your jeans were next. The button fought with you for a second before popping free, the zipper sliding down easily. You hooked your thumbs into the waistband and pushed then down your legs, your underwear hitching a ride as well. Adding them to the sink with your shirt, you half thought about how to get rid of them. That’s a problem for later me, you concluded while unhooking your bra. It joined your other clothes, looking the most prestine. You wondered how.
You didn’t risk looking at yourself in the mirror above the sink. Couldn’t face how battered you must have been. If the throbbing in all of your body was any indication, you’d look like a dalmation tomorrow with all of your cuts, bruises and scrapes.
When the warm water of the shower hit your body, it took everything in you not to whimper. You hurt. Really hurt. Not just physically, though that was the most demanding at the moment. Your heart was also aching, tears trying to fall at any given second. You’d watched a new requite die beside you, and it had shaken you, for whatever reason. He’d perished before the mission even really got under way. It was odd for that to happen. It threw you off.
You felt stupid. You’d been on plenty of missions before, dozens upon dozens. But this one. This one mission was the worst you’d ever been on. You felt like all of your training had been removed from you. Like you had forgotten it all in an instant. You were making so many mistakes, fumbling every move, every counter attack.
You watched the water swirl around your feet as it flowed down your body, thumping against your tense back. The color of it was a dark red, indicative of the dried blood and dirt clinging to your battered skin. You turned your body around, keeping your head ducked so your face wasn’t being assaulted by the water. You could feel a nasty welt on your cheek bone from a particularly sour contact with someone’s fist and you didn’t need it being aggravated.
You stayed, ducked under the stream, for what felt like years. Your breathing was steady but you could still feel your heart whapping against your ribs with the remains of adrenaline. You wondered absently if it shouldn’t have been snuffed out by now.
Before you lost the last little bit of your energy you decided to do an examination of your injuries. You were bruised, which you had already known would be the case. Angry purple splotches had formed on nearly every part of your body. With a scoff you muttered, “I’m gonna look like fucking Barney tomorrow.”
You had a few cuts as well. The worst of them was along your hip, not deep enough to be a risk, but it still hurt like a bitch. You couldn’t decide if it would need to be stitched or not.
You examined another cut on your left forearm, noting that it would only need to be cleaned out and wrapped.
You hadn’t suffered any gunshots, nor any stabs, and you couldn’t consider yourself luckier. Not that you’d escaped so seemingly unscathed by your own prowess and combative skills. No. You knew exactly who you had to thank for your life at this current moment.
Stepping out of the shower you loosely wrapped a towel around yourself, tucking it so that it wouldn’t fall off. Your hair hung in wet tendrils around your face, which you made quick work of tying in a wrapped bun on top of your head, secured tightly with a rubber band.
Opening the bathroom door, you were startled to see Mitch standing in front of the mirror hung on the wall. His hair was wet from the rain, and sticking to his head like a helmet, the ends curling as they were beginning to dry. His shirt was off, you noticed it discarded at his feet, and he was fiddling with a piece of gauze.
Cautiously you approached him, hoping he had heard the bathroom door or seen you in the mirror. Since he’d ordered you to leave back in the sewers, you weren’t sure you should be particularly forward or friendly with him.
You placed your hand on his shoulder blade as gently as you could, making sure to keep your voice soft when you spoke. “Would you like some help?” You asked.
“No,” he snapped. He shifted his shoulder forward to give you the hint to remove your hand. You did.
You could practically see the emotions written on his face when you caught a glimpse of it in the mirror. As much as he tried being a stone, he wasn’t very good at it.
“Did you clean that?” You indicated the wound to his right side. It was nearly 4 inches in length, and looked like it was extremely painful. You noticed his jaw clench before he spoke, “of course I cleaned it. I’m not a fucking idiot, y/n.”
You recoiled from him completely at this point, making a point to walk to your suitcase rather than stand behind him. “I never thought you were, Mitch,” you said in defense while searching for a pair of underwear. You tugged them on before continuing. “I was just asking you. I was going to offer to clean it for you if you hadn’t.”
“I already said I don’t need help,” he reminded you. You sighed, pulling on a pair of black stretch pants from your suitcase and a spaghetti strap tanktop that had been bleached stained when you had to dye your hair for a mission a few months prior.
Mitch got the gauze taped over his wound before turning to look at you. “I’ve honestly got nothing I want to say to you right now, y/n. And I certainly don’t want you trying to be nice to me, or offering to help. Just, leave me the hell alone.”
You bit on your bottom lip. Sure, you’d been trained to kill, but that didn’t mean your emotions had been stripped from you.
“No.” You said flatly.
Mitch’s eyes narrowed into an intimidating glare. “Excuse me?”
“I said,” you cleared your throat. “I said ‘no’, Mitch. I’m not going to leave you alone, and I’m not going to stop trying to be nice to you. Regardless of what went down tonight, we’re still partners. You can disregard me as a confidant, as a friend, as a lover, as anything else. But you can’t deny that we are in this together, until this mission is completed.”
Mitch balled his hands into fists, speaking through a clenched jaw, “This mission is over.”
You raises an eyebrow at this statement, sitting down on the bed, becoming once more aware of the cut on your hip.
“What do you mean the mission is over?” You asked. You were well aware that you’d made some mistakes, and the opposition had gotten the upper hand on you, but. The mission hadn’t been lost, you didn’t think. When Mitch had yelled for you to return to the hotel, you had figured he just didn’t want you managing to fuck anything more up.
“I mean, it’s been terminated. Kennedy called it. After you left, I -” Mitch stopped mid sentence, shaking his head. He turned abruptly, punching the wall beside him, leaving a whole the size of his fist. You didn’t flinch, didn’t so much as blink. You were trained not to jump at sudden movements.
Mitch’s tape on his gauze bandage had come loose, the bloody swatch of gauze flopping over to reveal the wound which had since begun trickling blood. He didn’t seem to notice.
After waiting a few breaths, you finally managed to speak. “You what, Mitch?”
He took a deep breath. “I diffused the situation that you had done nothing but make worse. Then I got in contact with her. Reported what happened.”
You swallowed hard. “What did you tell her?”
“Exactly what happened.” He said, completely cold. You remembered the fighting, the screaming, the knife that was coming straight for you before -
“What happened after I left, Mitch?” You tried, hoping to finish the narrative that seemed worse than you imagined.
Mitch shook his head, looking down at his knuckles. They were already scuffed from the hand to hand he had done earlier, but now the knuckles were split open. He flexed his fingers, making sure nothing was jammed. He was fine, you assumed.
“Mitch,” you pressed. “What happened?” If there was one thing Mitch was, that was stubborn. When he closed himself off, he was harder to pry open than a dog's mouth when they were hoarding a treat.
“Mitch!” You near shouted, anger and worry bubbling inside of you.
“Stan died.” He screamed at you, the vein in his neck bulging. “That’s what happened, y/n. Stan fucking died. I held him in my arms as, as -” He shook his head and you watched his eyes well up before he scrunched them shut.
Your heart began pounding, your throat instantly feeling dry. You took a moment before you could find your voice. “Mitch, he didn’t. This is cruel, even for you. Don’t - don’t lie about someone’s death you asshole.”
Mitch took a deep breath, “I’m not lying.” He found his way to the chair opposite the bed, sitting down in it heavily. “When he -” Mitch cleared his throat, struggling with his emotions. You sat closer to the edge of the bed, feeling weak.
“When he stopped Jackson - that was the name of the main antagonist as Irene called him, by the way. I learned that after digging his throat out with a blade. When he stopped Jackson from shooting you, he took the shot instead. It was silenced. You were busy with someone else. He didn’t notice the gunshot until after he’d managed to keep you from getting a knife to the spine. The forearm wound, the one you witnessed, that was practically a flesh wound. He would’ve been fine. God! He would have been /fine/, y/n. But-”
Tears were freely rolling down your cheeks as you sat staring at Mitch who was visibly upset, gettig choked up on the story.
“The bullet - it must’ve punctured his lung somehow. It had to have.” Mitch was looking at his hand at this point, and you noted how distant his gaze looked. How far removed he seemed. He was back in the sewers where the majority of this incident had taken place.
“I watched him fall to his knees as I was finishing off that blonde that kept disappearing during the fight. He’d managed to knock Jackson, he was the last of them alive then, unconscious before dropping down. He was clutching at his chest and throat,” Mitch began picking at the fabric on the arm of the chair he was sat in. You pulled your feet up onto the bed, wrapping your arms around your legs to hold yourself.
“When I got to him, he couldn't speak. He couldn’t even breathe. Just kept making this wet gurgling noise. Blood was starting to leak from the corner of his mouth. I was trying to figure out how the fuck to help him. I had seen a way to release the blood from the lung with a pen, clear up the air way or whatever.” Mitch was tears at the fabric with his blunt nails and the tips of his fingers, his body tenser than before.
“I couldn’t remember it though. Couldn’t barely fucking think. I just, sat down next to him and tried to prop him up. Keep the blood from choking him completely. Wanted to try and clear his airways. It wasn’t working. He started coughing then, blood splattering out, covering his cheeks and mouth in red. It coated my chest…” You watched pieces of the foam from the arm of the chair float to the ground like snow. You would later wonder who have to pay for the damage Mitch caused.
He wiped his face with his other before continuing. “He gripped my shirt and I kept trying to reassure him things would be fine. Because that’s what people do right? That’s what people do. They sit there and tell people everything will be fine, and no one believes it. But they hope it makes them feel better. And God. I sat there and held my mentor, our mentor, up while he choked to death on his own fucking blood. Blood that was only in his lungs because of a fucking bullet he shouldn’t have taken.”
Mitch dragged his hand down his face again, inhaling sharply through his nose to clear it of mucus. “Stan died. He’s dead, and…” Mitch’s voice trailed off, bigger chunks of foam falling to the floor.
You let out a sob against your knees as you held them tighter against your chest, your arms constricting around your legs even more. You were still trying to tell yourself Mitch was lying.
That the man who you had been training and working under for roughly three years wasn’t dead. That he was just testing you again, that it was all in an effort to make you stronger. Tougher. More callous.
“Stop lying to me,” you sobbed. You were getting yourself more worked up. Your brain trying to decide whether to be crushed or angry. Deciphering if it was really the truth or a vicious lie.
Mitch snorted, shaking his head. A shiver ran down your spine when his nails scraped against the wood of the arm on the chair. “I’m not lying to you, y/n. Do you really think I would sit here and make this up? You’re disgusting if you really believe that.”
Your heart skipped a beat, tears pouring down your cheeks faster. “He can’t have died, Mitch. He was supposed to go peacefully, alone in that stupid fucking cabin. Not in some disgusting sewer in fucking Paris of all places!”
Mitch snorted, “I know. Don’t you think I thought that? Don’t you think that ran through my head as I watched him die. Listened to him fight for his last gurgling breath?”
You sniffles, shaking your head. “How could this have happened?”
“You.” Mitch said, simply. He had no emotion to his voice.
“Excuse me?” You asked, suppressing a hiccupping sob.
“You heard me,” Mitch said. He lifted his eyes to look at you. “You’re how this could have happened. You were a fucking fool out there. Useless. It was like you had never been in the field before in your life. A new born baby trying to fight her way out of a paper bag. You’re how.”
His voice was starting to sound a little more venomous as he spoke.
“It wasn’t my fucking fault!” You near shrieked, letting your legs go. “Stan knew what he was doing!”
“It was you.” Mitch said again.
“No! God, I don’t know. I don’t know what Stan was thinking. How could he be so carele-”
Mitch cut you off with a deep voiced shout. “Stop!” He sat forward in his armchair, glaring at you. “Don’t you go trying to say Stan was responsible for his own death. He took a bullet to keep it from hitting you. To keep you from undoubtedly dying in that sewer instead of him.”
He stood from the chair then, trying in vain to fix the bandage he had just remembered was there. “Stan is dead, and it’s because of you. Stan is dead, and it’s all your fucking fault!” He sounded vicious as he spoke, his voice like knives skinning you.
“Mitch! Please stop,” You begged.
He rest his hands on his hips, having given up on the bandage. “No! You need to hear this, y/n! You need to know that the only reason Stan died is because of /you/. Because you’re careless, and reckless, and you shouldn’t be in the fucking field. You should pack your shit up, tell Irene you resign, and get fucking lost. Somewhere far away.”
Your heart, which was filled to the brim with sadness from the discovery of the loss of your father figure, now thrummed with a vein of anger.
“Mitch Rapp, I will not fucking tolerate you talking to me like that! We are in this together! It isn’t my fault that Stan died! Stop treating me like this!” He watched you with a cold stare. “You’re hurt! I know that! But you’re not the only one who just lost Stan, Mitch! You’re not the only one who has a monopoly on loss and sadness.”
Mitch set his jaw, balling his fists again. “In this instance, I am. The person who caused someone’s death doesn’t get to be sad about losing them!”
“I’m not the reason Stan’s dead!” You screamed, breathing heavily. “I’m as much the reason for Stan’s death as you are for Katrina’s!”
The moment her name left your lips you knew you’d gone too far. In the year and a half you’d been Mitch’s partner (per Stan pairing you up), you’d never once uttered her name. You knew she was off limits, even on a particularly good day for Mitch. You could nearly see the hurt and anger rolling off of him on waves.
Mitch snatched a shirt from his suitcase, yanked it on, and quickly stuffed his pockets with his important things. He didn’t even look at you as he did so.
“Mitch,” you whispered. “Mitch, I’m sorry.” You said a bit louder.
Nothing.
“Mitch! I’m sorry! I’m just… I’m overwhelmed and I didn’t mean that… I’m so sorry. Please, what’re you doing?”
Mitch walked towards the door. “I’m leaving.” His voice sounded almost clinical. “I’m not about to have you be the cause of my death too. Stan was enough.”
You watched Mitch pull the door open, and kept your eyes trained on the spot he left out of, even after the door had shut.

It took nearly three weeks for the CIA to clear the funeral for Stan Hurley. Irene had called you herself to tell you the date.
You could barely get out of bed. You felt as if your world impolded. You’d lost your mentor, someone you’d spent such a grueling part of your life with. You’d lost your partner, the man you shared more aspects of your life with than you thought you could. You lost your nerve, feeling you’d never be able to go on a mission again. And now.
Now you were faced with the reality of everything. Stan’s funeral would make everything feel real. Feel concrete. You couldn’t force yourself to pretend it was all some big, elaborate, terrible lie.
*
You arrived to the funeral location early, hoping to be able to pay your respects and leave before anyone else showed up.
Who else would show up though, you thought to yourself. Stan wasn’t married. Had no children. And most of his trainees were either murdered or wouldn’t risk showing up here.
You were busying yourself with smoothing out your dress when out of the corner of your eye you saw movement in one of the pews.
You stood up straight, reaching for the gun on your thigh holster, when you processed the movement as a person. And then quickly who that person was.
“Mitch,” you whispered.
He turned his head, noticing you for the first time since you arrived.
“Hello, y/n.” Mitch said. He sounded formal, like he was greeting a college professor and not someone he’d spent the better part of a year sharing his bed with.
“It’s nice to see you again.” You said softly, sitting down in the pew on the other side of the church as the row he was sat in.
“Likewise.”
You gnawed on your bottom lip for a moment before standing up. “I’m just. Going to say my goodbyes to Stan, and then I’ll leave…” You said, motioning to the casket.
Mitch nodded and watched you walk for a few seconds before speaking. “I’m sorry, by the way. For saying it was your fault. Stan’s death, that is. I was hurt, and I was blaming you. And I’m sorry.”
You stopped, turning to look at him with shock. “Oh… I uh…” You cleared your throat. “Thank you, for saying that. And again, I’m sorry for what I said to you that night.”
Mitch shrugged, “you’re forgiven.”
You gave him a soft smile. “Would you walk up with me? I don’t want to see him alone.”
Mitch nodded, standing from his seat on the pew. He joined you, taking your hand in his, before the two of you made the rest of the walk to the open casket.
You peered in, tears flooding your eyes immediately as you looked down at Stan. Your hand tightened around Mitch’s. The world around you froze.
You’d seen hundreds of dead bodies before, but none like this. None that affected you this deeply. Your cheeks became damp as you spoke.
“Thank you, Stan. Your guidance has changed my life in every way imaginable, and I owe you the world. Thank you for teaching me, nurturing me in your tough love kind of way, and for saving my life. I’ll never be able to repay you, and I’ll never stop being grateful to you. I love you, Stan Hurley.” You sobbed, clearing your throat a bit. “May I see you again. Goodbye, Sir.”
Mitch squeezed your hand when you stopped speaking, looking down at Mitch. He pulled something out of his pocket, and placed it on Stan’s chest. “Goodbye, Sir.” Mitch said, sounding emotional.
The two of you stood before Stan’s casket for a moment longer before turning and walking out of the church hand in hand.
A/N: it took a while to get to the good stuff but I’m really proud of this one and I’m lowkey glad it took me a year to finally write it lmao ALSO we’re gonna pretend covid isn’t a thing for this
You had met the Why Don’t We boys through your best friend Ashley, Corbyn’s sister, the two of you had been friends since the Besson’s moved in across the street when you, Ashley and Corbyn were little kids. When the three of you were older Corbyn started hanging out with you and Ashley more, the three of you became inseparable. So when Corbyn and the boys became a band, you were so happy for him and were there every step of the way, as long as Ashley was also there.
When the boys went on their Something Different Tour, Corbyn asked Ashley and you to come along since Jack’s sister, Ava, and Daniel’s sister, Anna, were also coming; Corbyn always saw you as his second sister, so naturally the two of you went along. You were both really excited, of course you had met the rest of the boys and their siblings before but spending the entire summer all together was going to be really fun. Ever since that tour, you, Ashley, Ava and Anna were closer than ever, and would join the boys on tour whenever you could. It would also be important to note that ever since that first tour you joined the boys on, you had a crush on Jack, and it only grew as the years went on and the closer you got with him, and the other boys.
Through the years, you’d been able to keep your crush a secret aside from telling Ashley and Anna. You didn’t want to tell Ava, but after a couple years she ended up finding out from Ashley and Anna slipping up when the four of you were hanging out, “oh my god! You like Jack?!” You obviously couldn’t deny or keep it from her any longer, “yeah, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you…are you mad?” “No! Oh my gosh! I mean like don’t tell me the detailed things you like about him,” she laughed, “but I’m sorry you felt like you had to keep it from me!” You sighed in relief, “I’m so glad, it’s been hard keeping this from you for so long. I obviously know nothing could happen because he’s with Gabbie now but, I don’t know sometimes it’s just hard being friends with him but,” you trailed off. The three girls came and hugged you and spent the rest of the night watching movies like you planned.
Just a few months after that happened Jack told you all that him and Gabbie were having a baby. To say that destroyed you was an understatement, but what could you do. You hugged Jack, “I’m so happy and excited for you boy,” the nickname you had for him. He hugged you back, “thank you sweet,” his nickname for you, “I appreciate that so much. I was honestly so scared to tell everyone.” “Just as long as you’re happy and this is what you want,” you pulled away from him and smiled. “Yes Y/N, I’m really happy, and it makes me even happier that the guys and you girls are happy and excited for me too, thank you so much, I love you sweet,” he kissed the top of your head. “Love you too boy,” you gave him another quick hug as Anna approached. “Jack, I’m so happy for you,” she hugged him. “Thanks Anna. I’m going to the other room, you guys coming?” Anna spoke before you could, “yeah sure, we’ll be there in a sec.” Jack nodded and walked away. Anna turned to you looking concerned, “are you okay?” “I mean what can I do?” Anna hugged you and then Ashley and Ava made their way over to the two of you. Before you could keep being sad you turned to Ava with a happy expression, “this is so exciting! You’re gonna be an aunt!” “I know! I’m so excited for Jack. But I’m also worried for you, I wanted to make sure you were okay.” You hugged Ava, “thank you girl, I appreciate it,” you pulled away and continued, “I’m really excited for him, I know he’s always wanted to be a dad, I love that all his dreams are coming true at the same time.” Ashley chimed in, “but how are you?” “There’s nothing I can do, I think I’m just gonna mirror his emotions, if he’s excited, I’m excited, that’s all I can do; be supportive and be happy for him I guess.” Ashley smiled sympathetically at you and pulled you into a hug. You hugged her right back and tried not to cry. You know that you never dated Jack and that he had no idea of your feelings, but you’ve had these growing feelings for the last two years, you love him, and there isn’t anything you could do.
The months went on as the boys did promo for their debut album and upcoming tour, you were so proud of Corbyn and the rest of the boys, this is what they’ve been striving for since their first EP and everything was finally happening for them.
During the 8 Letters Tour, you couldn’t join them because of school, and honestly you didn’t really want to. It was getting closer to Gabbie’s due date and you didn’t think you could handle being with the boys while Jack was always facetiming her and talking about the baby. You were obviously still so excited for the two of them and their families, but you couldn’t put yourself through that. Corbyn had noticed your distance from the boys and questioned you about it, and you, not ever being able to lie to Corbyn, ended up telling him everything, from the beginning to where you were at now. “I’m sorry you felt like you couldn’t tell me, you can tell me anything, always, even if you think it could make me uncomfortable. I’m always here for you no matter what,” he had said to you while holding onto you tightly. You started tearing up a little, “thanks Corbyn, love you. So that’s why I don’t wanna come on tour with you guys this year, especially tour after she’s had the baby and it’s all anyone talks about. I don’t want it to seem like I’m being rude, but I just can’t do it.” Corbyn, still holding you, kissed the top of your head, “you don’t have to apologize Y/N, I understand, and don’t worry, I won’t tell the boys, your secret is safe with me.” You held onto him tighter, “I love you Corbyn, I don’t know what I’d do without you and Ashley.”
The birth was hard for you, but those emotions were quickly pushed aside when you got to see Lavender for the first time. She was definitely the cutest little baby you’d ever seen. You expressed your love and excitement to both Jack and Gabbie, “oh my god guys she’s incredible, I’m so happy for you,” you hugged the two of them. “Thanks Y/N, that really means a lot,” Gabbie said to you smiling while she looked at her baby. Jack pulled you into a hug again, “sweet, thank you so much for supporting us through all of this, it really means the world.” You were released from the hug and smiled at him, “of course boy, this is gonna be such an exciting journey for the three of you.”
When Jack and Gabbie broke up, you wouldn’t say you were happy, you were obviously sad for him because you know they tried hard to make it work, especially for Lav, but in the end it just didn’t work out. He leaned on the boys, his sisters, and you a lot. He found it harder to lean on the boys’ sisters because they were close with Gabbie and her sister, but you were also closer to the boys and their sisters since you weren’t actually family. He found it easier as the months went on and the more distracted he was by being with you and the boys so much. You found yourself hanging out with Jack a lot more than you used to, sure you were closest with him after Corbyn, but you hadn’t ever really been able to spend that much time together because they were either in the studio, on tour or he was with Gabbie or his family. It was definitely a change, but you certainly were not mad at it, you loved spending time with him.
Jack’s POV
“Dude did Y/N just leave,” Corbyn asked. “Yeah, why?” “Wow she didn’t even say bye to her best friend.” “What do you mean she just said bye to me?” “Ha. Ha. Very funny Jack, I’m her best friend here, you can be number two, but I’m number one,” Corbyn laughed, I knew he was joking. I laughed with him, “yeah yeah, I know, no need to rub it in.” He looked at me blankly for a second, so I gave him a questioning look. “How’s everything going man?” I tilted my head, still confused, “what do you mean?” “Just life, stuff in general, how’s everything?” I was still confused but answered him anyways, “It’s fine, same as usual, why?” “Just wondering. When are you seeing Lav?” “This weekend, we can all hang out one day so you guys can see her too. I know you’ve all also missed her.” “Yeah man thanks! That’d be great, I miss the little peanut,” he paused for a few seconds before he continued, “is Y/N gonna come too?” “Sure yeah, I can text her, or you can if you want.” “That’s fine, you can ask her man.” I was confused a little again, “okay…am I missing something here?” “What do you mean?” “I don’t know, you’re being kinda weird man,” I laughed awkwardly. “I was just seeing what you wanted to do when we all see you and Lav, nothing weird.” I side glanced quickly before looking back at him, “okay man, whatever you say.” He smiled at me and then he walked away back to his room.
The next day was just as weird, but this time it wasn’t just Corbyn, it was Daniel, honestly it was all of the boys. So when we were in the kitchen, I said something to them, “okay guys what gives?! Why are acting all strange, yesterday it was Corbyn and now it’s all of you! What’s going on?” The boys all looked at each other before Zach spoke up, “do you have something you wanna tell us?” I looked at them very confused, “huh? What the hell do you mean?” This time Jonah started to talk, “I don’t know, maybe about girls, or one girl.” I was even more confused than before, but Jonah kept talking, “you know it’s okay to feel how you feel, it’s been a while since you and Gabbie broke up.” Correction, now I was more confused than before, “guys I’m honestly so lost, what the hell are you talking about?” Corbyn’s turn to talk, “bro I wouldn’t be mad at you, it’s not a problem at all that you like Y/N, you don’t have to hide it from any of us.” “Woah what? Yeah sure, I like Y/N as a friend, but honestly Corb, it’s nothing more than that,” I couldn’t believe what was going on, “sure we spend a lot of time together now but that’s just because we’ve gotten a lot closer and we have a good time together.” “Jack,” Daniel started, “you don’t have to deny your feelings man, we all just want the best for you.” Jonah started talking again, “alright bro, maybe you don’t realize it yet, but we all can see it, you obviously like Y/N, but if you need some time to see it now that we’ve pointed it out, that’s fine.” Then they all walked out of the kitchen.
Corbyn was the last to leave and he grabbed my shoulder and said, “I’m serious about what I said man, I love Y/N, she’s basically my sister, but you’re also my brother, and I just want you to be happy, however that may be,” and with that he walked out of the room leaving me with my thoughts.
I had never thought about Y/N and I like that. Sure, we hang out a lot and have a good time together, but I had genuinely never thought about that, I didn’t think I could for a while after Gabbie. But I guess thinking about it, and after the boys talking to me, I can kinda see where they’re coming from, and I think they might be right.
Corbyn’s POV
“Do you think he’s gonna realize it now,” Daniel asked. “Man I hope so, or else Y/N is gonna be devastated,” I said to the boys. “Wait what,” Daniel said. “Shit. I didn’t mean to say that, it was supposed to be a secret.” Jonah spoke up excitedly, “wait hold on Y/N likes Jack too?!” Zach piped up now, “bro that’s so good! We have to tell Jack! They could be together!” “No,” I said loudly, “we can’t tell Jack, I didn’t even mean to tell you guys. It’s just me, Ash, Ava and Anna that know.” “Hold on Anna knows? And she didn’t tell me? Damn what a sister.” “I know you’re joking, but Y/N didn’t want anyone to know, she had only told Ashley at first and then Anna, it took her a while to even tell Ava, and then even longer to tell me. She had only told me just as the 8 Letters Tour was about to kickoff. She’s felt this way for like three years.” Daniel spoke again, “damn, I hate that she had to go through all of that then, ya know, all the Jack and Gabbie stuff.” “Tell me about it, I’m glad that she had finally told me, but I hate that she felt like she couldn’t, but at least she had the girls.”
Zach spoke up, “I have an idea.” “That’s never good,” Daniel laughed. Zach rolled his eyes but continued, “what if we make Jack jealous. We pretend to set Y/N up on a date, and, hopefully, Jack tries to stop even the idea of it and ends up telling her sooner than later.” “You know what Zach,” Jonah said, “you might be onto something.” I interrupted, “we just can’t tell her it’s a plan, we have to make it seem like we’re actually setting her up with someone, I don’t want her to know that I told you guys.” “Yeah, that’s fine man, we’ll make it seem real, and when it works out, we’ll tell both of them,” Jonah said. “Hopefully it works,” I said and continued, “he has Lav this weekend and said we can all hang, including Y/N, we should do it then.” All the boys spoke at once, “sounds good,” “I’m in,” “hell yeah.”
Your POV
The day you saw Jack last was Wednesday, and then Thursday afternoon he had called me to come over on Saturday because he had Lav for the weekend and he and the boys would be hanging, and he wanted me to join. You loved how great of a dad he is, it honestly makes me love him more, but you can’t let that get in the way of our friendship and his relationship with his daughter, you know that he’s been working really hard on it since he doesn’t see her everyday like he used to. You loved seeing him in his element, and you love Lavender and missed her just as much as the other boys had, so now you’re on your way to their house to see them all.
When you got there and knocked on the door, Corbyn answered almost immediately and hugged you, “my girl! I missed you kiddo!” you laughed, “you know that I’m closer in age to you than Ashley is right?” “You’re still kiddo, kiddo,” he said, laughing now too, letting you out of the hug and bringing you into the house. “Where’s Lavender?” He nodded his head to follow him further into the house and to the living room where all the boys were. “Y/N,” Jack said excitedly when you walked in with Corbyn. “Hey boy. How’s the little girl?” “Better now that one of her favourite people is here,” he said handing her to you as you sat down. She wrapped her little arms around your neck, you hadn’t realized how much you missed her until now.
“Hey girlie,” you said and kissed her cheeks, which made her laugh. When she let go, she started to grab for Jack, so he took her and smothered her face with quick kisses which kept her laughing. It was one of your favourite things, seeing Jack with his daughter, he was meant to be a dad. Of course, he was meant to make music too, but this, this was something even more amazing, you thought. “What’s going on in that head of yours, Y/N,” Jonah asked you. You shook your head getting yourself out of your thoughts, “huh? Oh nothing.” Jonah looked at you like you were guilty, but you just didn’t pay any mind to it.
It was after dinner when you had arrived, which meant Lav wasn’t going to be up much longer. You and the boys had planned to watch some movies and just hang out since the six of you hadn’t done that in a while. When Jack went to go put Lav down in his room he stopped at the living room entrance, “actually Y/N? Can you put her down while I warm her bottle?” “Oh uh, sure. I can warm the bottle though instead?” “No, no, it’s fine. She’ll be good, I’ll be up in a sec to actually get her to sleep.” You got up from the couch as the rest of the boys had just stared. Were you missing something? Jack gave you Lavender and he went to the kitchen. Before you walked upstairs though, you turned to the rest of the boys, “you guys are weird,” and you turned and walked away. When you got halfway up the staircase you heard the boys whispering but decided to not think much of it.
When you got up to Jack’s room, you didn’t want to put Lav down until Jack was there since he was getting her bottle. Instead you just bounced her around while walking around his room. Lavender wasn’t being fussy, she had her head on your shoulder and you could feel her breathing get heavy, but that’s right when Jack walked in, which make Lavender wake up more than she was. She lifted her head off your shoulder to see who was there and then put it right back where it was before Jack walked in. “Do you want her now? I can go downstairs.” He just shook his head, “no she’s good with you. Here.” He handed you Lavender’s bottle while you continued to hold her, “you can put her down in her bed, she’s good on her own once she has the bottle.” You looked at him and nodded, put her down in her bed and she reached for her bottle which made you laugh.
Jack’s POV
Dammit. Those damn boys. I was doing fine. Y/N and I are friends. Ever since Wednesday, I can’t get what the boys said out of my head. I knew for sure that when I saw Y/N today I’d know for sure what my feelings were. And well. They were right. Not only seeing her when she walked into the living room, but especially when she was holding Lav. There was no way I could deny it now, especially to the boys. I don’t think I could tell Y/N. I don’t think I could ever risk our friendship by telling her. And what are the odds she even likes me, or would even want to be with me? I’m a dad, and a young one at that. But the way she is with Lavender. She knows how much Lav means to me. The way Lavender seems so comfortable with her too. She was falling asleep so easily in Y/N’s arms. Seeing good Y/N is with her too. No. I can’t convince myself of something when it isn’t even true.
“Jack?” Shit. How long was I out of it? “You okay to go back down with the boys,” she asked whispering. “Oh, uh, yeah. I’ll meet you down there in a sec. I’m just gonna tuck Lav in and read her a quick story.” “Oh okay,” then she leaned down and kissed Lav on the forehead, “goodnight cutie.” Which made Lav smile. Oh god. She’s definitely not making this easy now. Then she turned to me, “we’ll try to pick a movie before you come back down. You know how they are though,” she laughed, which got me to laugh. “Yeah. Okay I’ll be down in a minute.” Then she walked out and closed the door behind her. I took a seat on Lav’s bed, “do you like Y/N honey?” She only just laughed again, which I definitely did not take as a no.
Your POV
When you got back downstairs, you sat next to Corbyn and he opened the blanket he had to share with you. “Jack said he’s just gonna read Lav a story and then he’ll be back down. Any movie ideas?” Corbyn put his arm around you, “we can wait for him. We haven’t seen ya in a few days kiddo, how’s it going?” You laughed, “Corb, I literally text you everyday.” “Yeah but the other guys, I’m sure they’d love to know about your life.” You gave him a weird look, “okay…um I’ve just been at home. I saw Ash yesterday, but other than that, I haven’t done anything.” “I have a question for ya girl,” Zach said to you. “Well maybe I have an answer for you.” Zach laughed, “are you seeing or talking to any boys?” Daniel was raising his eyebrows like he was so intrigued, and Jonah tilted his head in interest. You looked at Corbyn and he shrugged, “um no. Why do you ask, Zach?” “Well we kinda wanna set you up on a date,” Jonah said. I looked at the four boys a few times back and forth, “what? Why? I’m fine.” Corbyn leaned into my shoulder, “I don’t know kiddo, you just haven’t been out in a while.” You gave Corbyn a look that said, you know why I haven’t gone out and the reason is currently putting his daughter to bed upstairs. He widened his eyes and raised his brows, “just hear us out. Please.” You sighed, “fine.”
Just then Jack walked down the stairs and into the living room laughing, “still no movie?” He sat down on the other side of you. “These idiots are trying to set me up on a date,” you said not looking at him. “Oh? And with who?” You and Daniel spoke at the same time, “no clue yet,” “one of my friends.” “Wait which friend,” you asked Daniel. Jack was Daniel’s friend, was it too much to hope. You laughed to yourself. “Yeah what friend? And why wasn’t I part of this plan,” Jack asked. “Well it’s actually one of Kian’s friends, but we’ve become friends too.” “Yeah, we’ve actually been thinking about this for a week. We just didn’t tell the person yet because we wanted to make sure you were cool with this,” Jonah said to me sweetly. “No pressure kiddo. If you don’t want to go out it’s fine.” You shook your head, “you know what, I’m actually down. So who is this person.” Daniel widened his eyes at Corbyn which made you turn your head to look at him, but he was looking at Jack. When you turned to Jack, he had his head down, so you looked back at Daniel, “what? What’s wrong?” “No.”
All the boys and you turned your heads to Jack, who was now looking straight ahead. “Huh? Jack, what to do mean no? What’s wrong,” you asked him, putting your hand on his shoulder. He finally turned to you and he had a sad expression on his face. Was he okay? “Don’t,” is all he said while he just stared at me. “What? Don’t what? Go out?” “Yeah.” The other boys all have excited looks on their faces, but you were too focused on Jack. “Jack. You’re gonna have to give me more than word answers. What’s up with you?” “You can’t go out with him.” He looked at his shoulder where your hand was, and then he was grabbing that hand and your other with both of his. Your eyes widen, “and why not?” You looked you straight in your eyes, only focusing on you, “because I wanna go out with you.”
Your jaw dropped and Zach, Daniel and Jonah got up from their seats and came to Jack and grabbed him and shook him while Corbyn grabbed onto your shoulders and shook you as well and kissed the back of your head. “Woah what’s happening right now?” All the boys started to laugh and Corbyn rested his head on your back and chuckled, “oh kiddo.” Jack squeezed your hands to get your attention. You looked back at him and he was smiling sweetly at you, “sweet. I’m telling you that I like you and I wanna go out with you.” You smiled at him, “I like you too, boy,” which made him laugh.
“It worked,” Zach said excitedly. “What? What worked,” you asked looking confused at Zach. “Well, a few days ago we had a talk with Jack about you and his feelings for you. And then Corbyn let it slip that you liked Jack too, so I came up with an idea to pretend to set you up so Jack could tell you how he feels and then you’d tell him! And guess what? It freaking worked!” You turned around to look at Corbyn who had a guilty look on his face, “you told them?!” “I’m sorry Y/N, it was an accident, but look at what happened! All those years brought you here!” You widened your eyes and Jack spoke, “years?” Corbyn’s eyes widened now too and he mouthed, I’m sorry, and you just shook your head laughing and rolling your eyes. You turned back to Jack, “uh yeah. I’ve kinda felt this way for a few years. Actually, and I don’t wanna freak you out, but I don’t wanna lie to you either.”
Jack grabbed your hands again and smiled, encouraging you to continue, “well guess I’ll say it in front of the guys since Corbyn spilled anyways,” you laughed before continuing, “please, obviously, don’t feel obligated to say anything back. Since I’ve had these feelings for a few years, they’ve grown a bit, so um, I just wanted you to know that uh, I love you boy,” you laughed. Jack had a huge smile on his face, “that means so much, sweet. I can’t say that yet, but I want to one day, soon. But I do wanna tell you that I love so much about you, but I think what I love most about you is how you are with Lav and how much you care about her, and she loves you so much too.” You saw Jonah tilt his head towards the living room entrance and he got up to leave with Daniel and Zach following behind, and you looked back at Corbyn. He was smiling at you, “I’m happy for you kiddo,” then he got up, kissed your forehead and turned to Jack, “be nice to her.” The two of them laughed and Corbyn patted him on the back.
The second Corbyn walked out, Jack attacked you with a hug and now he was laying on top of you, both of you laughing. The two of you just laid there with your back to him while he held you for a while just talking about anything and everything. Then Jack got serious for a second, “I’m sorry I was oblivious for so long.” You turned to face him and smiled, “do not apologize, who knows what would’ve happened if I had told you all those years ago. I am so happy with how everything worked itself out.” He just smiled back at you and then finally, he kissed you.
A/N: I decided to not switch through points of view but just kept writing while the povs kinda sorta change, hopefully it makes sense as you read but it might be more of JJ’s pov since the song is from the guy’s pov ALSO if you’ve seen the music video for phases I guess it’s kinda gonna be like that lol
I know you’re tryna do you, but I heard you fell off.
After a couple bad nights, and 20 cold hearts.
Tryna find a new you, but I heard you got lost.
Tryna figure your worth.
What the hell does that cost?
You and JJ had been together for a little over a year when you told him that you thought you needed some space and wanted to figure out who you were and what you wanted. At first JJ was confused, he thought you loved each other and wanted each other. “Please don’t be upset with me,” you had said to him. “Y/N I just want you to explain it to me.” “JJ, we’re so young, and I’m not saying I don’t love you, because I do, I love you so much, but I have no idea who I am. I don’t want it to be 3 years down the road and we decide that we don’t want to be together. I know that we’re young, but I honestly think that we’re it for each other. I just don’t want us to end up as that, right person, wrong time, couple.” JJ was nodding along as you had spoke, “okay. I get that. Just, please don’t like, I don’t know, forget me, I guess? Because I love you and I want to be with you.”
When I’m kissing ya, grippin’ ya thigh.
I realized you were destined and meant to be mine.
But who am I to conflict with ya livin’ your life?
Just know when you call, I’m at the end of the line.
JJ knew you were the one. He just wanted to be with you. But he didn’t want to get in the way of you finding yourself, because he didn’t want you to be the, right person, wrong time. He thought of you as the, right person all the time, no matter what. He also would never want you to feel pressure to stay with him because he wanted you to. He also didn’t know what kind of space you wanted so he would sometimes text you, reply to your story, whatever. It broke you, but sometimes you just didn’t answer him. You knew this was hard for him, but it was hard for you too.
JJ: just checking in, how are ya?
y/n: im good jj, thanks.
y/n: i know it’s been a couple weeks and we’re both kinda struggling with this but idk if we should be texting and shit while we’re figuring how exactly to navigate this. and it also won’t help in any kind of growth. im sorry jj
JJ was beside himself. He wanted to be there for you, but this was the one time you didn’t want that. He still thought it was important for you to know that he’s here for you.
JJ: i get that. don’t be a total stranger tho. if you ever need me or anything, i’ll be here
JJ never got a response to that message. But he knew, or at least hoped, you’d come to him if you ever needed.
I’ll practice my patience, while you’re getting wasted.
Till fate brings you home, I’ll wait through your phases.
You’ll shuffle through faces, like songs in your playlist.
Till fate brings you home, I’ll wait through your phases, phases.
It had been about two months since you asked for space and JJ was doing as well as he could be. He spent a lot of time at John B.’s to try and distract himself with John B., Ki and Pope. Even Sarah came sometimes. Sarah was surprisingly helpful actually, while his other three friends tried to steer clear of anything to do with you, Sarah wasn’t worried about bringing you up, “well she did say that she wanted to be with you right? Don’t look at it as a breakup because it’s not. And even if it does become one, which I highly doubt, it isn’t one yet.” JJ was shaking his head, “she’s seeing other people, she doesn’t ever talk to me and I know that I don’t talk to her either, but she asked for that. I don’t know Sarah, it’s hard not to treat it like a breakup.”
Ki started to agree with Sarah, “but JJ, she said she loves you; she just needs to know who she is. You don’t want her to resent you down the road.” JJ looked at Ki in shock, she never wants to talk about Y/N, she was always worried about upsetting JJ. He couldn’t argue with them, what they said made sense, and plus, you had been talking to those two more than you had been talking to him. And that was saying a lot because you only talked to the girls maybe once or twice a week, and you always tried to avoid talk of JJ because you didn’t want to be worried about how he may be feeling; he had said that he supported you in wanting to do this, so you were just going to stick to that.
It definitely did not help JJ’s worrying knowing that you’d go out and you’d be seeing other people, going on dates, doing whatever else you were going to do while you two weren’t together. He’d just have to wait on you, he wanted you to be as sure as he was.
Hittin’ all the right cues and you’re leaving your mark.
But I know that ain’t you, you’re just playing your part.
Tryna fit in them shoes, but you take it too far.
It doesn’t matter where it takes you, I’ll go wherever you are.
It had been four months now. You can’t lie, you missed JJ, but you can’t find yourself in four months just to go right back where you were before. Obviously not saying that going back to JJ would be bad, but it still seemed to early to go back to him now.
You’ve gone a quite a bit of dates, in the beginning, they were all one offs though. Two months ago you had met someone, things were going pretty well actually. You had gone on a few dates together, but you personally thought things had been moving too fast. When you brought it up though, it did not go well. You were told that you were “self sabotaging because you don’t want to be happy.” It goes without saying that you two were no longer see each other. Maybe you were self sabotaging, you definitely weren’t doing it on purpose though. You just always had a lot on your mind.
Since then, you’ve been going out a lot again, and surprisingly Sarah was joining you quite a bit lately. You had felt bad almost completely cutting off your friends just because they were also JJ’s friends. You just didn’t want it to seem like you wanted them to pick sides because ultimately, there were no sides. Right now Sarah was over at your place and you were waiting on the food the two of you had ordered before going out for the night, “so what’s the plan, Y/N?” “Guess we’ll just go to one of the bars or clubs downtown. Can you wing-woman me,” you asked her, lightly laughing. Sarah started slightly laughing along with you, “sure. But uh, and don’t take this the wrong way but, what if we just went out to have a good time tonight? If you meet someone, you meet someone. Don’t try to force finding someone.” You looked at Sarah thoughtfully, maybe she was right. The last few times you’d gone out, and with Sarah, she helped you find someone, and you’d gone on a few dates. Maybe tonight could just be more of a chill night out, “you know what, yeah, you’re right. Do you wanna call Kiara and see if she wants to join too?” Sarah was silent for a second while she stared blankly, “um, I actually don’t know if she’s free. I think she had plans tonight, uh, with the boys.” “Oh okay that’s fine, just me and you then,” you smiled at her. Sure you hadn’t seen Kiara in a while, maybe it was mostly on you, but sometimes it sucked, guess that’s what happens when you want a break from one of your friend’s best friend.
When I’m kissing ya, grippin’ ya thigh.
I realized you were destined and meant to be mine.
But who am I to conflict with ya livin’ your life?
Just know when you call, I’m at the end of the line.
I’ll practice my patience, while you’re getting wasted.
Till fate brings you home, I’ll wait through your phases.
You’ll shuffle through faces, like songs in your playlist.
Till fate brings you home, I’ll wait through your phases, phases.
I’ll wait, I’ll wait through your phases, phases.
I’ll wait, I’ll wait through your phases, phases.
For you, I’ll wait through your phases, phases.
I’ll wait, I’ll wait, I’ll wait through your phases.
JJ could admit that these past few months had been hard, but what he hated to admit even more was that it was also getting easier. You never texted him and even Sarah wouldn’t talk as much about you to JJ either. She felt bad because she had started hanging out with you more and more and she didn’t really want it to seem like she was rubbing it in JJ’s face in any way. JJ did appreciate that Sarah was doing that for him, and he also appreciated that you had Sarah, he figured it must’ve been hard for you not being able to talk to any of your friends, but it is what you decided.
JJ didn’t really go out much, he didn’t enjoy it as much as he used to when he would go with you. John B. did make him go out a couple times, especially recently since Sarah was going out with you. Nothing ever happened when he went out, he mostly would just sit at their table and had a couple drinks. JJ was waiting on you.
I’m really tired of being soft spoken.
You got me broke, writing songs about you daily and it’s messing with my focus.
You fuck with him, but we both realized that he was bogus.
I’m the one for you, so why do I feel like I go unnoticed.
I’m talking more than clothes hittin’ floors.
I’m falling off track, but not the rack, like a chore.
Oh, look, another butterfly, I feel it in my core.
Even though you ain’t mine, it’s the fact that I’m yours.
It’s the fact that my life ain’t complete without yours.
It’s the fact that at night I be tryna ignore.
Catching overseas flights just to knock on your door, cause you put my planet in orbit.
Stargirl, your body’s so solar.
Promise you, baby, I’m sober.
Just wait till you give in and finally come over.
I can’t wait to tell you, “I told ya, I told ya, I told ya.”
It’s been about half a year without any contact from you, and JJ is going crazy. Not only that, but now he’s more stressed and worried than he was in the first two months. He didn’t think it’d be like this for this long. He thought maybe you could’ve even been friendly with each other but if you weren’t going to message him, he didn’t want to feel like he was overstepping and intruding on your space.
JJ was also frustrated though because he really, really, really thought you’d at least even tell him that you didn’t want to be together by now. But maybe if you hadn’t it was a good sign, right? He needed to know something though, even if it wasn’t him directly that was finding out.
JJ: Sarah, can I ask you for a favour?
Sarah: shoot
JJ: could you see where Y/N’s head is at rn? I’m kinda freaking out
Sarah: actually I can do you one better
JJ: ??
Sarah: she’s still figuring things out BUT she’s not confused about things as much and she thinks she knows what she wants
Sarah: before you ask tho, she didn’t tell me where she stands or what she’s doing. she probably figured you’d ask or I’d tell you, which I wish I could do
Sarah: I know you’re stressing, but hopefully it won’t be for much longer bc she’ll tell you something soon one way or another
Sarah: but I hope it’s in the way that you’re both happy and together :)
JJ: thanks Sarah, I really appreciate it
JJ: keep me updated if she tells you anything or you hear anything
Sarah: of course, same goes for you
Wow, at the beginning of all this, JJ definitely did not think Sarah would be like his saving grace through it all. She’s honestly been the most helpful and straightforward, making sure JJ was feeling all his feelings and not hiding from any of his friends. She wanted him to know that she was there for him, and so were the boys and Kiara.
So much time has passed, and you knew now for sure, that you were ready to be with JJ. But since so much time had passed, with no contact at all, you weren’t sure how he still felt. What you did know was that you had to tell him everything you felt before because even though you knew you wanted to be with him, he needed to know that he wanted to be with you. There was not one bone in JJ’s body that didn’t want to be with you, but you didn’t know that.
Y/N: Sarah, do you know where JJ is?
Y/N: PLEASE DON’T TELL HIM IM LOOKING FOR HIM!!!!
Sarah: I won’t dw
Sarah: and he’s at John B.’s, we all are
Y/N: okay please all stay there
You were on your way to John B.’s and to say you were nervous was an understatement. You hadn’t seen any of them, other than Sarah, for half of a year. You just hope none of them changed their opinion of you and hated you now.
Y/N: I’m here, do you think you could try to get JJ to come out without telling him it’s me
You waited a minute until Sarah responded.
Sarah: he’s coming!!!
You waited on John B.’s front lawn and then JJ opened the door. You didn’t know what Sarah said to him to get him to come out, but he started looking around until he saw you, which caused him to do a double take. “Y/N? Wha-what are you doing here?” JJ started to come over to where you were standing. “I uh, I uh, wanted to see you. I-is that okay,” you were a lot more nervous than you thought you were going to be. “Yeah of course. Is um, something wrong?” “I guess that depends.” “Depends on what? You’re kinda worrying me.” “I have something to say to you. And I need to say it all before uh, any kind of decision is made.” “Oh um okay. Go ahead.” You took a deep breath and started.
“When I told you that I wanted to just take a break for a while, I said it was for me and to figure out who I was, which is partly true. I ended up realizing though, that wasn’t the only reason,” JJ tilted his head in confusion at you while you continued, “I realized that it was for you too. And yes, I know that it wasn’t your idea and you still supported me and the decision, but it was for you. It was for you through me. I wanted to make sure you were happy, I didn’t want you to regret being with me,” JJ opened his mouth to say something, but you stopped him, “I just wanna finish,” which he nodded at. “I didn’t want to end up being a burden on you and then have you resenting me in the future for who I was. And I know it sounds ridiculous, these scenarios that haven’t happened about problems you’ve never even voiced. But I guess I not only wanted to grow for me, but I wanted to grow for you, because I love you. I love you so much JJ Maybank.”
JJ had the biggest smile on his face as he pulled you into hug and then put his hands on either side of your face softly and kissed you. You swear you’d never been happier. JJ pulled away, both of you with the same goofy smiles. “I love you Y/N, so much. I’m just glad that we’re together again.” “Me too.” Then before JJ could kiss you again, you heard banging on the windows and when you and JJ looked, John B., Pope, Kiara and Sarah had all been watching through the window the whole time. You and JJ laughed while the four of them just cheered. “Let’s give em a show then,” and JJ pulled you into another kiss.
You and Daniel were out at a restaurant with the boys and were just talking and catching up since you hadn’t seen each other in a while. It was just going to be the two of you, but the others found out and wanted to tag along which you had no problem with. There was a dance floor on one side of the restaurant and a good amount of people that were on it, if you can even call it a dance floor, it was such a small space since the majority of the place was seating. There was a bar on the side where the dance floor was where you could order appetizers quickly or drinks, but none of you were planning on drinking.
“Does anyone want anything else? I’m gonna go to the bar now to get more fries,” Jonah spoke up after a conversation ended.
“Yeah, just get like three plates of fries dude,” Zach laughed while telling Jonah.
Everyone agreed they just wanted to get fries and so Jonah up and went to go get the fries everyone wanted. Then Daniel spoke up, “I’ll come help you bring them.”
And Daniel got up as well and you, Corbyn, Jack and Zach were left alone to have your own conversation.
Corbyn spoke up first, “So Y/N, what else is new?”
“Oh nothing really, just the usual piled up in school work life.”
“I feel ya on that, school is so tiring,” Zach responded.
Jack laughed at him and said, “You don’t get to complain about school, you barely do it and you get all of our help while you do it.”
“Yeah, I guess, but it’s still hard sometimes even though it’s still high school. I guess it doesn’t compare to university.”
You and Corbyn were laughing at the two boy’s interaction when Corbyn noticed some guy walk past your table to the dance floor looking at you, “Oh don’t let Daniel know,” he joked. You gave him a questioning look as if to say, why can’t he know we’re joking about school. He continued and said, “There’s a guy who keeps looking at you.”
“Well good for him, too bad nothings gonna happen if that’s what he’s thinking,” you said.
“What’s not happening for who?” Jonah said as he and Daniel got back to the table.
“A guy over there looking at Y/N that Corbyn noticed,” Zach blurted out casually while digging into the fries Daniel and Jonah just put down.
You and Corbyn rolled your eyes at the boy in only a kind of joking way.
“At my best friend?! She’s mine! No one can have her,” Jonah jokingly exclaimed while he and Daniel sat back down. Daniel didn’t say anything, and just wrapped his arm around you and you gladly leaned into him.
The night continued on, the six of you just talking about anything and everything. But you and Corbyn noticed that every so often that guy would look back over at you; he probably never saw when you were cozied up to Daniel. Corbyn texted you under the table to make sure that Daniel never noticed the guy since neither of you knew how he’d react. You’d kiss him every so often and squeeze his leg and smile at him and he’d send you a loving smile back and towards the end of the night he leaned his head on your shoulder. “I love you,” he whispered and kissed your shoulder. You smiled down at him and kissed his head, “love you too, so much.” But other than those small interactions he was kind of quiet the whole night, but you just thought he was getting tired.
“Okay guys you ready to go,” Zach asked. It was 11pm which usually wouldn’t be too late but a few of the boys had to go to the studio tomorrow so you all thought to end the night a little earlier than usual.
“Yeah, let’s head to the car,” you responded and took Daniel’s hand and you all walked to the van and headed back to the boys’ house.
The car ride back wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, Jack had the aux cord and played anything anyone had wanted. Daniel’s quiet behaviour remained unchanged from how it was at the restaurant and you still didn’t think much of it.
When you got to their house everyone said goodnight and headed to their rooms, and you followed Daniel to his. He went straight to the bathroom while you changed into one of his shirts, and when he came out he went straight to the bed and went on his phone. At this point you began to wonder if something was wrong, he hasn’t said anything to you in what seems like forever.
“Hey babe? Is everything alright,” you asked him, more concerned.
“I don’t know…you’re gonna think it’s stupid,” he replied in a soft whisper.
“I won’t think that something you’re bothered by is stupid. Just talk to me, you’ve been quiet the whole night. What’s wrong,” you spoke in a sincere and caring tone, so that he would know you could be trusted even though he already knew that.
After a minute of silence, he finally spoke, “I didn't like the way he was looking at you.”
“What are you talking about,” you asked. And then it all clicked. He must’ve noticed that stupid guy all night who was looking over at you even though you were in Daniel’s arms.
“That guy, he wouldn’t stop. He even made eye contact with me a few times and literally did not care, it’s annoying,” Daniel said in a complaining tone, but in an also jealous kind of tone.
At this point Daniel had sat up in the bed and you were sitting next to him. You put your arms around him and your head on his shoulder and started to talk softly, “baby, I love you, so much, you know that. You have my heart, for as long as you’ll have me.”
Daniel perked up at your words and went to lay on top of you, hugging you back, “I know, I love you too, and I’m sorry for being weird all night.”
“No need to apologize. How about we watch some netflix and just lay here,” you said to him.
Daniel looked at you and smiled, “perfect, I love you.”
You and Daniel spent the next two hours watching netflix and then when you both got sleepy you turned the lights off and just held each other until the two of you fell asleep.

A/N: P/N IS PARK NAME SO YOULL JUST BE AT WHICHEVER ONE YOU WANT OR WHATEVER :) also SURPRISE HI school rn is kinda slow sooo this is what happened, all these requests are from the summer, don’t know how fast they’ll get done but it’s a start :) enjoy
You and two of your friends decided earlier in the week that since the weather was gonna be nice you’d spend the day at P/N. When you got there it was 10:30am and the plan was to stay as long as possible, do the water park, any and all of the rides on repeat plus some lunch and possibly dinner. You were so excited because this was only the beginning of a great weekend; tomorrow night you’d be going to the New Hope Club concert with the same friends you were at the park with. They were on tour and next stop: your city! But right now you were focused on today, not wanting to spend all your New Hope Club excitement before the concert.
Through the day you and your friends went on as many rides as you could, waited in lines for what seemed like forever and even stayed at the water park for over an hour. It was now 3:30pm, but you and your friends were not worn out yet somehow. So maybe some New Hope Club excitement was brought to P/N, but the three of you couldn’t help it. “Oh my god,” Y/F/N excitedly yelped, “imagine if Blake, Reece and George were here today!” You looked at her like she was crazy, “yeah right! I highly doubt they’d come here with all these people and have the possibility of being crowded by fans when they’d wanna have a fun day.” Although it was something that seemed great, especially because maybe you could meet them, you weren’t about to get your hopes up. Your other friend piped up, “yeah, I think Y/N’s right. Let’s just have fun for us for the next couple hours, and then we can freak tonight and tomorrow over the boys.” Everyone agreed and you continued with your day.
On every ride the three of you would take turns as to who would ride alone, which would sometimes lead to sitting next to a stranger, but most times not. It was your turn again and it was to be one of the last rides of the day. When the worker lined you up, you noticed you were gonna have to sit next to some random person, but you didn’t pay much attention to them and kept talking to your friends. When you went to be seated on the ride you started to get a little nervous, and the person beside you seemed to notice, “hey you alright?” You turned your head to the boy with the accent and could not believe who you were sitting beside: Blake Richardson. But you had to play it cool, “oh. Uh, yeah, yeah, I’m okay just nervous,” which was more true now that it was before you looked at him. “Honestly me too, my friends behind us,” he pointed and there sat Reece and George, “dragged me on, against my will you could say,” he laughed as he spoke. You laughed along with him, “well no going back for us now.” “Guess it’s time to close my eyes,” Blake said as the ride took off.
The whole ride was filled with screams from you, and many from Blake. As it came to an end and was slowly pulling back to the start, Blake turned to you, “um I don’t mean to sound uh, cocky, I guess? But I’m in a band and I have a show in the city tomorrow, and I’d like it if you could come, you know if you want?” You laughed, “yeah I’d love to, especially since I already had planned on going with my two friends in front of us.” “No way! Great! Well since you already have tickets, I could get some backstage passes for you at the box office? And then we can see each other again,” he sounded awfully nervous as you were getting out of your seats and started walking to the exit gate of the ride. “Oh wow, yes, of course! I’d love that, and I’m sure my friends would love that! I’m Y/N by the way,” you told him. “Blake,” he laughed, “but you probably already knew that,” you laughed along with him nodding. You could see your friends losing it a little so you decided to introduce them too, “these are my friends, Y/F/N and Y/F/N.” “Nice you meet you,” Blake said and shook their hands and hugged them as George and Reece were catching up to the four of you. “This is Reece, and this is George,” he said to the three of you and then turned to the boys, “these lovely people will be coming to our show tomorrow and coming backstage as well.” “Awesome!” “Cool,” Reece and George said at the same time. “We should get going boys, great to meet the three of you! See you tomorrow,” Reece spoke. Before the walked away, Blake hugged you and said, “I’ll see you tomorrow, Y/N,” smiled and waved as he walked away. “See ya,” you replied and waved, with a huge smile on your face. Once the boys were out of sight, Y/F/N sang, “someone’s gonna date a boy band member!” Your other friend laughed at this and your face turned a light pink, “yeah right!” But that was kinda sorta what you were hoping.
Tags: @seaveyliciouss bc you wanted daniel, and @bessonbear, @peachy-beachy-queen and @caswinchester2000 / @zachheroin bc yall wanted this story
You and Daniel starting dating when you were both in grade 12, and now you were finishing your second year of university while Daniel was touring with the boys. The last time you saw him was just after New Years, so it’s been a few months, but you understood what his job was and didn’t have a problem. You would FaceTime as often as you could, which would be almost every night, and you’d text throughout the day, sometimes one of you calling the other before the day finished because you missed each other’s voices.
Daniel had this weekend off and wanted to come visit you, but you told him not to because he deserved some rest and you didn’t want him to be more drained than you were sure he already was. Sure, you did want him to come, but you knew he should just be at home resting, plus you had a lot of studying to do for final exams coming up. And since you lived off campus with some friends, you probably wouldn’t be spending a lot of time at the house because you would get distracted easily, so you’d be going to the library a lot. Of course Daniel fought you on wanting to come, he missed you too, but he gave up and agreed with you after some convincing.
That conversation took place on Monday and it was now Thursday afternoon and Daniel would be arriving back home soon and had told you he’d let you know when he landed and got home. You were excited for him to finally be home, you knew he missed his family like crazy, hell, you even missed them, but you talk to Anna and Christian almost as much as you talk to Daniel. Anna had actually told you that you should fly out to surprise Daniel since he was upset he couldn’t come see you, but you told her the same thing you told Daniel. Just then, Daniel was calling you.
“Hello?” “Hi babe!” “Are you home? How was the flight?” “Just got my bags and I’m heading to the car. I miss you,” Daniel said in a quiet voice, clearly sad that he wasn’t going to see you. “I miss you too, Dani, but I’m almost done the year, and your tour is almost over and then we can see each other as much as we want.” “Yeah that’s true, I just wish it hadn’t been so long,” he spoke still a little upset. “Well the wait is almost over, so don’t be too sad,” you told him trying to perk up his mood, “and plus now you’re home and get to see your parents and Anna! She told me she’s so excited for this weekend with you!” “Yeah, Tyler and I missed her like crazy, and Christian too, but we don’t get to see him yet either. Oh there’s my car, I’ll call you back when I’m home. I love you Y/N.” “Love you too Daniel, bye.”
When you hung up, you got back to studying. You were actually studying at home today since you figured you’d be talking to Daniel quite a bit and didn’t want to be a disturbance in the library. You and your three friends/housemates were all at the kitchen table working together in silence, occasionally stopping to talk or watch an episode of The Office. Once it was 5 o’clock you said you’d make pasta for the four of you while they continued studying with The Office low in the background. As the water was boiling, Daniel called you again.
You answered, “hey!” “Hello, I am now home.” You laughed at his phrasing and the way he said that, “good, how is ever-” Then the doorbell rang, and you called to your friends, “hold on Daniel. Can one of you get that? I’m cooking and on the phone.” Then you heard one of your friends get up to answer the door. “Sorry Dani, what was I saying? Oh, how is everyone?” Then from the front door you heard a small yell or gasp and your two other friends run to the door, “guys! I’m on the phone,” you yelled to them, “who could possibly be at the door?” You stayed at the stove, now pouring the pasta in the water. “I’m so sorry Daniel,” you said laughing. “No it’s fine don’t worry,” he said, now sounding very clear, then he cleared his throat and you turned around.
There he was, standing in the opening of your kitchen. You put your phone down on the counter and went to hug him. He picked you up slightly and swung you. “What are you doing here,” you asked him once you both released from the hug. “I just really missed you. And don’t worry I won’t bother you or stop your studying, but I just really wanted to be with you,” he said shyly but with a smile on his face. That made your heart race, “I love you,” you told him. “I love you too. Oh there’s another surprise.” You looked at him questioningly, and then Anna appeared in the kitchen. “Anna! What are you doing here?!” “I wanted to come with Daniel. So I flew to their show last night and we came together!” You two were now holding each other tight. “Hey, I missed her more,” Daniel spoke up. You and Anna laughed and let go of each other so you could go hug Daniel again, a big smile on his face. “And before you say anything about both of us coming, I texted Y/F/N, she just wasn’t the one who answered the door,” Daniel told you, knowing exactly what was going through your mind. Then you remembered, “THE PASTA!”
You could hear your friends laughing from the table, “thanks for the help,” you said back to them also laughing now. “Aw, I wanted to take you all out for dinner since I know it’s a stressful time,” Daniel told you as he came to hug you from behind. You turned and held his arms and kissed him, “that’s sweet babe. Maybe tomorrow night then, exams haven’t started yet but none of us have class either so we’ll study during the day so we can go out.” “Fine, I guess that’s okay,” Daniel responded, and you laughed. Anna was at the table looking at your notes, “holy shit Y/N, that’s so many pages, how the hell is there so much,” she looked shocked at all the work you’ve done. “I really couldn’t tell you Anna, it’s absolute hell though.”
While you were cooking Daniel and Anna made themselves comfortable on the couch and were watching The Office while your friends were distracted and were talking to Anna and Daniel. Every so often Daniel, Anna or Y/F/N would come and ask if you needed help, and you said no every time. That didn’t stop Daniel from leaving the kitchen though. Every time he came in, he’d sit on the counter watching as you cooked the pasta and sauce while the two of you just talked, a common conversation being about the rest of the boys and tour. “You know they begged me to let them come? They complained that I let Anna come and not them,” Daniel was telling you as he imitated each of them when they said it wasn’t fair. “It would’ve been chaos in the house if they came, there’d be more of you than people that lived in the house.” “That’s what I told them!” You both laughed, “I really missed you, you know,” Daniel said to you as he got off the counter and held your hand. You smiled up at him, “I know, I missed you too, so much.” You kissed him, and he smiled at you, “I’m glad you ended up coming,” you confessed. “I knew you would be,” he told you and he faked flipping his hair. You laughed and hit his chest lightly as you yelled for the other four girls who were now chatting about something “dinner’s ready!”

A/N: this is the longest one ive ever written so i hope yall like it :)
You and Corbyn haven’t been going out long, he had just asked you to be his girlfriend three months ago. So your relationship was still very new and you were still getting to know each other on deeper levels. You had actually just gotten out of a relationship a few months before you met Corbyn, and it didn’t end well. Turns out that he had been cheating on you with one of his ex’s. When you found out, you were heartbroken and ended it immediately. And when you met Corbyn it was like a light had come back into your life. You of course told him all about your ex and everything that happened, and that you haven’t spoken to him since the night you ended it. Even though you and Corbyn hasn’t been together long, you felt something different with him, something you hadn’t felt with any of your previous boyfriends, and you shared that with Corbyn nervous of how he’d react to that, but he told you he felt the same.
Today, you were in your apartment watching Netflix, just having a relaxing day since you had it off from work. And then Corbyn texted you;
Corbyn🥰: hey babe, what are your plans today
Y/N: hii :) i was planning on just sitting at home all day watching Netflix or something, wanna join?
Corbyn🥰: HELL YEAH i’ll leave now, see you soon!!!
You haven’t seen Corbyn in a few days because you were both busy working and it seemed like today would be a great day since neither of you had anything to do so you could just be together doing nothing.
Then you got a text, and thinking it was Corbyn you went to grab your phone quick. But boy were you ever mistaken. When you unlocked your phone you saw that it was your ex-boyfriend, Marcus. Wondering what he could possibly want, you unlocked your phone while rolling your eyes;
Marcus: I think this has gone on long enough, don’t you??
There was no way you were responding, and even if you were, you would wait for Corbyn to get to your place and tell him. You know that if you responded you would just go off on him, so a level-headed Corbyn decision was something you could really use, even though you could already assume he would say to ignore it. And just like that, there was a knock on your door. You ran to go get it, and the second you opened the door you latched onto him and kissed his face all over, “well hello to you to Y/N, this is quite the way to be greeted, might have to request this for every time we see each other,” Corbyn laughed. Then you pulled away and smiled at him, “hi.” You’re both laughing now, and Corbyn holds your face between his hands and says “you missed a spot,” before he kisses you on the lips. “You gonna let me in or what?” You reached for his hand and pulled him into your apartment. “Do you want any snacks or a drink?” “What do you think I brought in my bag?”
You and Corbyn have been laying in your bed for about three hours just watching Netflix going back and forth between different shows either of you wanted to watch. Sometimes you’d have to pause it so he could go get more snacks or another drink. It was now just after 1pm and Corbyn said he wanted to order pizza which you did not object to, so you were waiting for it to arrive.
After watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother, there was a knock on the door, “must be the pizza, I’ll go get it,” you told Corbyn.
Corbyn’s POV
When Y/N got up to get the pizza, I paused our show and went to the kitchen to go get us plates and napkins. But before I left the room I heard one of our phones going off. Thinking it was my phone I went to grab it but soon realized that it was Y/N’s so I was going to go bring it to her. I wasn’t trying to snoop, but I took a look at who was trying to contact her so I could tell her, and that’s when I saw Marcus’ name. It said there were 6 text messages (because she has it so she can’t see the messages unless she unlocks her phone) and 3 missed calls. The worst started going through my head. I know that I should trust her, and I do, but after everything she’s told me about Marcus, I know how he can be. He cheated on her with his ex and now I’m scared he came back to Y/N and after everything they’ve been through, I can’t help but think she took him back. Thinking about all of this is making me upset and I don’t want Y/N to know. So I think I’m gonna have to leave soon.
I walked out to the kitchen now and got us plates while she was closing the door after talking to the person who delivered the pizza. I’m just gonna tell her now, “hey, I just got a call and said that I need to come do something as soon as I can, so I’m gonna have to go after we eat.” “Oh, that’s uh, that’s fine. What do you have to do?” Shit, I probably sounded so weird not giving her any information, but I guess I gotta stick with it, “uh they didn’t really say. Just that I needed to come back for something.” “Okay, well if you have to go, I can just pack you up some slices so you can lea–“ “No! I uh, I mean, it’s fine, I can stay to eat while we watch another episode of something, but then I’m gonna have to go.” “Okay, that’s fine.”
Y/N’s being a little, I don’t know, but that’s probably because I’m acting super weird and suspicious, but I can’t help it.
After we ate, I headed back home and found all the boys watching a movie on the couch. “Hey guys,” I said catching their attention. Jack grabbed the remote and paused the movie as Jonah, Zach, Daniel and Eben said their hellos, but Jack spoke up, “what are you doing here? I thought you were spending the day with Y/N.” “Well that plan changed,” I started getting more upset about the situation. “What? Why,” Eben questioned. “She’s talking to her ex, Marcus, and I think they might be back together.” “Woah, that’s a pretty big accusation. What made you think that,” Jonah pushed. “I saw her phone, I wasn’t trying to do anything, I just heard it ring, and I was gonna bring it to her and then I saw that he was texting and calling her like crazy,” I was getting more and more frustrated as we kept talking about this. Jonah asked again, “well did you talk to her?” “No, I just said I needed to leave after we ate because you guys called me to do work on something.” “And what if she finds out you–“ Jack was cut off by Daniel, “she’s calling me. Do I have to lie to her with the excuse you used?” “Yes please, I don’t wanna deal with this right now.”
Your POV
“Hello?” “Hi Daniel.” “Hey what’s up?” “Corbyn was acting kinda weird when he told me he had to leave and the rest of the time he was here. Is everything okay, did he actually have to leave?” You were concerned and knew that Daniel was the person you could most turn to; you’re friends with all the boys, but you and Daniel are the closest, you have this brother/sister relationship and knew you could trust him. “Yeah yeah he’s fine. He just got here a few minutes ago and we were about to start working.” “So he’s good? Everything’s good?” “Yes Y/N,” Daniel laughed, “everything’s good. I’ll talk to you later, I gotta go.” “Okay bye Daniel.” “Bye Y/N.”
You felt a little better after that conversation. But you still couldn’t help but feel that something was off. You thought to yourself and think that the best thing to do if something is wrong, is to just leave it alone, and when Corbyn wants to talk, he’ll tell you. But letting him know you’re here to talk is always good, so you text him.
Corbyn’s POV
“Well what’d she say,” I asked Daniel. “Just if you were okay and wondered if you actually had to leave. Dude I think you should just tell her what you saw and ask her about it. I’m sure you’re just overreacting and that it’s nothing.” “You don’t know that! If what I think is happening, then that’s exactly what he did to her and I don’t want it happening to me!” “That’s exactly why you should talk to her as soon as possible,” Zach finally said. Then a phone went off, and it was mine, “she texted me.”
Y/N💕: hey, you seemed a little off earlier. i hope you’re okay, and that you know you can talk to be if anything is wrong. i’ll see you soon😌😘
I read the text aloud to the boys, “see dude, you’re the one being weird, I really don’t think anything is going on with her ex,” Eben told me. “I don’t know, I think I’m gonna need a few days to cool down.” “Are you gonna say anything to her though,” Daniel questioned. “No, because then she’s gonna be able to get it out of me,” I tell them honestly. “Dude, that’s not fair to her,” Jack responds. “Well if what I think is happening, it’s not fair to me.”
Then Daniel raises his voice, clearly getting mad at me, “but you don’t know if it’s happening so why are you gonna punish Y/N when you don’t even know the truth!” I know how close they are and how this puts him in an awkward situation, it puts all of them in an awkward situation, but I’m not ready to face this yet. But I raise my voice back at him, “because this is what’s gonna help me calm down! And you yelling at me definitely is not doing that, Daniel!” “Okay guys, we don’t need to have a screaming match, just talk calmly and reasonably,” Jonah stops us to say. “I don’t have anything left to say,” Daniel says and gets up to, what I though would be to walk upstairs, but he walks out the front door and leaves.
Daniel’s POV
I know Corbyn is gonna be upset if/when he finds out I came to Y/N’s, but I needed to talk to her. When I get to her door I knock a couple times and almost right away she answers, “hi– oh Daniel, hey, what are you doing here? I thought you guys had work to do?” “We do,” I say keeping up with the lie Corbyn told, even though I don’t know why, “I was just getting frustrated and wanted to come see you, we haven’t seen each other in a while. Can I come in?” “Yes, of course,” she says and let’s me come in and we sit on her couch. “Why are you frustrated? What happened?” “Corbyn.” “What? I thought you said he was fine? What’s wrong? Is he okay? Did something happen? Did he do something,” she bombards me with questions, which makes me laugh a little bit. “It’s only what he’s doing to himself, but it made me upset, and I needed to come tell you,” I say to her. “Daniel, you’re worrying me, what’s wrong with him?” “I think you need to talk to him. I don’t wanna get more involved than I already have made myself,” I tell her honestly. “Well is this something that should be done in person? Where is he?” “He’s at his house, I can take you, that’s where I just came from.” “Yes, please, let’s go.”
Your POV
You left your apartment with Daniel to go see Corbyn and for some reason you were quite nervous, “what should I be expecting? Is it bad?” “Kind of? Maybe? I don’t know exactly how to describe it.” “You’re making me more nervous than I already was Daniel. Why can’t you just tell me what’s happening?” “Because we’re at his house now and you should talk to him yourself,” Daniel said as he pulled into the driveway of Corbyn, Jonah and Eben’s house. As you were about to get out of the car, you noticed Daniel hadn’t even unbuckled his seatbelt yet, “aren’t you coming?” “I’ll come in a few minutes after you do. Corbyn and I were arguing and that’s why I came to you, I don’t want him to be more upset if he sees you come in with me, it’s bad enough he’s gonna find out I told you to talk to you when he wanted a few days to cool off.” That caught your attention and made you close the car door, “you never said anything about him wanting to cool off. What the hell happened to make him so upset, Daniel.” Now you were just irritated at whatever was going on. “Just go in and talk to him and work it out.” “Work what out though! I don’t know what’s wrong!” “He’ll tell you if you ask, he said if you came to him and asked if something was wrong you’d be able to get it out of him.” “Fine, whatever. I guess I’m about to find out anyways. See you in a few?” “Yeah, good luck, Y/N.”
And with that you walked out of the car and knocked on the door with Eben answering it quite quickly, “oh hey Y/N! Come in! You here to see Corbyn?” When you walked through the door you hugged Eben and replied, “yeah I am. How’ve you been though?” “Been good, yeah, thanks. It’s good you’re here, we told Corbyn he needed to talk to you.” “So he talked to you all about what’s wrong?” “Yeah he did,” he replied shyly. “Alright then,” you said a little annoyed now as well, “is he in his room?” “He went up there a few minutes ago, yeah.” “Okay thanks Eben,” you started walking up the stairs and remembered, “oh uh, Daniel’s in his car, he was worried that Corb would be more upset with him if he saw that Daniel came to get me to talk to him.” Eben laughed, “okay I’ll go get him.” “Thanks.”
When you got to Corbyn’s door you knocked lightly and he spoke up on the other side, “Jonah I don’t wanna hear it anymore just leave me alone.” “It’s not Jonah.” There was no response and then the door opened, “what are you doing here?” “Now couldn’t I ask you the same thing,” you said in a joking tone, “I was told I needed to come and talk to you.” “Let me guess, Daniel came to get you.” “Yes. But you can’t be upset with him, he wanted us to talk about whatever’s wrong even though everyone seems to know what it is but me.” “Wait, Daniel didn’t tell you?” You shook your head to say no. “Wow, I’m surprised.” “Well. Do you wanna tell me what everyone’s saying the issue is?” “Well I didn’t want to for a few days, I was actually gonna avoid you,” he admitted. “That’s what Daniel told me. But why? Corbyn what’s wrong?” “I saw your phone,” he finally said. You looked at him confused, “hun I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you said honestly. “Please don’t make this worse than than it is and make me feel even worse too.” “Corbyn I genuinely don’t know what you’re talking about, can’t you just tell me.” “Marcus.” It took you a second to realize until it hit you, “oh.” “Yeah. Oh. Now isn’t there something you need to tell me now?” You spoke softly now and went to hold his hands, “babe, it’s not what you think. I was going to tell you, but we were just having a relaxing day and it completely left my mind. He texted me before you got to my place, I don’t even remember what he said, but I didn’t respond, I wasn’t planning on it. I wasn’t planning on ever responding or talking to him again.” You could see on his face that he felt bad, “oh. I’m so sorry, Y/N. I should’ve talked to you, I should’ve known you wouldn’t ever do that. I’m sorry.” He brought you into his chest, kissed your forehead and wrapped his arms around you, and you wrapping yours around his torso. “It’s okay, I should’ve remembered to tell you,” you say leaning upwards to kiss his jaw.
Corbyn took a step back from you and smiled, you returned it but laughed a little, “what?” He laughed back, “I just wanted to say that, uh,” he took a moment to pause, “I love you, Y/N. I think that’s probably why I was so scared and upset earlier and why I left your place. I had these feelings and I thought you were doubting it or didn’t even have any kind of feelings towards me anymore.” You were shocked. That was the first time he said that. “Y/N?” You realized that you were just staring blankly at him, so you laughed at yourself. “What’s so funny,” Corbyn said with a little bit of a joking tone. “Nothing,” you laughed, and then you stopped so you could speak again, “I love you too, Corbyn.” That’s when the biggest smile broke out onto his face, which made you mimic it. Then took a step towards you and kissed you. That’s when you heard whisper voices on the other side of the door, so you whispered to Corbyn, “do you hear that?” He laughed, “yeah for the last couple minutes.” “I wanna scare them and bang on the door.” Corbyn laughed again, “yes oh my god, let’s go.” You both walked closer to the door and Corbyn counted down from three on his fingers. And then you both slammed your hands on the door, earning screams from the other side. Then you opened the door and revealed the five idiots you and Corbyn claimed as friends. You and Corbyn were hunched over laughing when Zach finally spoke, “thank god he’s not mad anymore at least, angry Corbyn is my least favourite Corbyn.” This made you and the rest of the boys laugh even harder, except for Corbyn who acted like he was annoyed, but you could see he was hold in his laugh. “Are we done now? Because I’d like to spend time with my girlfriend,” Corbyn said to the boys. “Yeah, yeah, fine. Have fun,” Daniel said. And when they were on their way down the stairs Jack yelled back to you two, “but not too much fun!”
For the rest of the day you and Corbyn just laid in his bed watching movies and tv shows, with him just holding you, with the occasional kiss to the head and whispering of “I love you” between the two of you. Once it was late, you asked Corbyn for a ride home since Daniel was the one who drove you here. “No, you’re gonna stay here tonight Y/N,” he said to you and his grip tightened around you, scared that you were gonna get up and leave. You softly laughed, “okay Corb, I’ll stay.” You closed your eyes and then felt soft kisses to your head and Corbyn whispering more of “I love you.” And that night you both fell asleep peacefully and happy that the day ended better than he had began.
