finally. at two months. an update.
As of Thursday of this week, I have been in New York two months. Time does fly, doesn't it? It some ways, I feel like I have been here for years. In other ways, I feel like I've been here a hot second (which is much more accurate than years). Either way, I feel like I'm settling in okay, getting to know the city, and of course, doing more homework and reading than I have done in a very very long time.
AND now the New York portion of my bucketlist is updated (see at the time under: New York City). Of course, this is in no-way a comprehensive list but it's a good start. As always, I'm looking for more suggestions. As you can see in the list, I have completed some of the items/events/activities already. Instead of trying to go back and remember and write about those things, I'm just going to pick up from here. I think it'll be easier and potentially less boring. Other upcoming (or already started) updates to this blog/site: Weekly show reports: I see a lot of theatre. I'm going to write down every show I've seen for the week here on Sundays. This is mostly a record for myself but hopefully it'll be fun to read as well. (The first long post to encompass all the shows I've already seen is posted below.) NYC Month-aversaries: Because I'm a person who likes that sort of thing. And this way, I won't clog up Facebook with it. My professional website is almost (read: probably another month) done and ready to launch so if it interests you, you'll be able to read about my school and professional adventures there. And now, I have homework to focus on. (Read: Netflix.)

Poo Poo Point
Someday I'm going to open a story with "Well, this one time, I accidentally hiked eight miles to the most beautiful view I've ever seen." And as long as the person who is listening to this story isn't an avid or even regular hiker, I suspect they will be impressed. Because I certainly was. The thing about this bucketlist is, generally, it's expensive. But not this time. People, did you know that hiking is FREE?! Well Emily did, so when she suggested a "quick" hike. And actually, it was a great way to kill two birds with one stone: Emily's first appearance on the bucketlist and nature. Oh! And three birds, EXERCISE. I won't bore you with how out-of-shape we are and how surprised we were at the difficulty of the hike. What I will say is the sentence at the beginning of this post is true, it was the most beautiful view that I can ever remember seeing. It made the sweat, painful calves, and almost owl attack completely worth it. I mean, c'mon:
catch-up
I am behind. In so so many respects. But to make up for it, here are two back to back blog posts and a BUNCH of pictures. Oh and less, than a month until I go to NYC. ...AHHHHH.
instagram tag
Last night, my old roommates, Cassi and Christina, and I went to the Seattle Asian Art Museum (post forthcoming) wherein Christina decided I need an instagram tag.
So, are you bucketlisting with me? Instagraming out adventures? Feel like you have something you want me to see. Use #samsbucketlist and I'll see it. Happy adventuring!
