Samuel Hicks
A couple of shots from Samuel’s latest personal project, ‘The Last Hip’. He was at Cambridge’s Woodyard to document the thrills and spills of the BMX track, including the tricks, the riders and the spectators in the last of the summer sunshine. You can view the whole of his project on the BD site.

A few snaps from Samuel’s most recent personal project, focusing on Lynn Athletic Boxing Club. He has used his signature ephemeral lighting style to capture active and pensive moments of the members of London’s oldest amateur boxing club. A broader edit of this series is up on our site.
Samuel Hicks - All My Life
Samuel Hicks based himself in Burgess Park to document the riders of the Peckham BMX club. He has followed with interest the development of a club that, formed only in 2004 with 4 riders, went onto become the Number 1 BMX club in the UK. It provides training for many local children, offering opportunities to travel for competitions and, ultimately, teaches them skills that will last for a lifetime. Shot entirely with available light on his D5 Nikon, Samuel has caught some beautiful moments from the track. More to follow!

Samuel Hicks for Nike x Fenerbahce
Samuel headed to Istanbul to shoot five stellar members of the Fenerbahce basketball team - Bobby Dixon, Nikola Kalini, Ahmet Duverloglu, Melih Mahmutoglu and Bogdan Bogdanovic - for Nike. The image has been used to celebrate the team being crowned Euro League champions, following a storming win over Olympiakos on Sunday.
