It always feels really bad to see these types of posts from struggling artists because 9 times out of 10 you go to their media tab and immediately see the reason why their art isn't getting traction (unappealing style, unexciting subject matter, poor skills, etc)
But "big artists" are never going to tell them that because they'd look like assholes, and a lot of small artists would rather tell each other that it's all luck / the algorithm / big artists trying to suppress competition. They wind up kind of cultivating this resentment that makes it harder and harder for them to reflect
"Just draw for yourself" is, of course, actually wise advice--if you can't enjoy art for its own sake then it doesn't matter how famous you get online, you'll still hate it. You'll probably hate it even more! A lot of big artists are likely speaking from experience there
