Day 16 : Ballad - a surprising combo, but I'm happy with it. Also nice to see Sam so high up!

Although Sam sometimes wishes he was the type of lover who could be your hero, or the type who could compose a ballad about your love, you’re glad that he isn’t. You’re glad the person you’re courting is Samwise Gamgee.

Who won’t slay a dragon effortlessly - but would fight one without thinking if he’d protect you. Who sometimes blushes red and stumbles instead of confessing like he wants too, but shows his love in other ways. Sam points out the birds that have flown back to the Shire, or the first blooming of the new roses. He points out peace.

Trick or treat! Our favorite gardener, Samwise + “eavesdropping”?

Trick-or-treat! And my first Sam request, hopefully it's good <3

Sam genuinely doesn’t mean to eavesdrop on Merry and Pippin’s conversation, only two tables away - and talking loudly enough for him to hear them from three. But the fact you can hear someone's conversation isn’t something you generally announce, and he wasn’t expecting the talking to be about him. Especially him and you.

“So, when d’you think Sam and (y/n) are going to get together?”

“If they actually talked about their feelings? Any day, it’s obvious. He looks at them like they’ve hung the stars, they look at him as though he’s their everything. But, it’s also them we’re talking about. I’d say at least another month.”

“I’d double it.”

“Double it, really?”

“At least.”

The conversation descends into petty bickering from there, but Sam’s heard the important bit. The bit that’s made his cheeks go red, and his heart beat like wild. Because, maybe, there’s a chance you love him back.
