Getting Ruben to eat was one of the more difficult parts of Marcelos self assigned job of keeping the genius alive. There was never really a good way of going about it either, trying to feed him in the lab was ineffective, trying to get him to leave the lad was equally as ineffective, usually the only way to get Ruben to eat was to ambush him with food right after he wakes up so at least he has one mean a day.
It isn’t so much that he dislikes food as it is that he gets so lost in his work that the needs of his body become secondary.
However, if he isn’t working, he does prefer high quality food with stronger flavors.
