This doll did something silly... it burnt the vessel's entire left hand on the stove top when Miss wasn't looking... thankfully its yelp alerted its Sisterwitch, She gently hugged this one while taking care of its charred porcelain fingertips...

"Dolls are allowed to make mistakes, especially ones that already do so much work" She softly whispered to this one, as she wiped away its tears...

These ones are so lucky to have such a brilliant and forgiving Sisterwitch... it wouldn't know what to do without Her. 🤍

We're starting to think that the fact our system's vessel is so frail and exhausted all the time is actually a punishment by the Divines.

Why give us a drive to serve and work and provide for others, and then stuff us in a fleshmech that can't even lift its head or legs most days... very cruel if you ask me.

Our dolls are intrinsically aligned with the Lense of the Moon and the aspects of Stars in our mind, given our dolls in particular always serve a Miss that wants to delve into the mysteries of magic and the knowledge around the universe itself, it only makes sense.

The Lense of the Moon is that of glinting starlight, reflection, Knowledge, care, and the Life which knows itself... dolls are inherently all of these things within our mind.

Remember to wrap up warm in the winter months, break out that space heater or stack of blankets, especially if you have circulation/hypermobility issues. Our own knees are frozen solid despite taking our own advice so... keep warm and keep cosy, this is a reminder to all the beings who might need it. 💜

The vessel is taking rest today as our mental and physical health has been waning for a some time now.

We suppose this gives us some time for reflection and jotting down our thoughts... which, unfortunately, is a rarer occurrence than we would like.

It's the duty of a Marionette Knight to protect and cherish the Sanctuary's wellbeing, and to protect it from any threats that may arise be they internal or external... so that is what I try my utmost to do.

The perpetual chronic illness compounded by after-effects of the current plague has taken a huge toll on our mind, body, and soul... this isn't even taking into account worldly affairs outside the bounds of our vessel, that is also causing quite a lot of stress... but we're persevering nonetheless, and we implore others to do what they can to persevere as well.

Despite everything going on, I implore you to care for yourselves and those around you. It's imperative that you survive to flourish and love through this, even if you think you can't/won't. We deeply care for you, even if we do not know you. Your presence on this Earth is what makes life worth living, so please, do your best to live through this and flourish at the end of it, you're more resilient than you realise.

While spending time writing on the fundamentals we figured it'd make sense to explain a bit about us and who we are, so here we go.

We are the Sanctuary System, an ever expansive collection of Dolls, Witches, Acolytes, marionette Knights, half-divinities, and more.

We are heavily pro-inclusive and believe that unconditional compassion and care should be given to all, regardless of their societally perceived moral purity or supposed lack thereof. Yes, even the beings you despise and hate with all your heart, all beings deserve compassion.

We are polytheistic by nature and are dedicated to the Lenses of the Universe and the Deities that progenated them. We are mendicants, meaning that we as a system have taken a vow of poverty and refuse to acknowledge the concept of personal property.

Our vow of mendicancy (and specifically our belief that we own nothing) is pushed by the fact that we view ourselves as simply caretakers and stewards over the entities that exist around us. Our animism is key to us, and understanding that everything has its own soul and being is key to understanding why "owning" things just doesn't work for us as a whole.

The various subgroupings of beings within here all have specific duties that they carry out, such as dolls performing maintenance for ourselves and others, Witches cataloguing and seeking to understand this world better, Knights protecting the selves internally and externally, so forth and so forth.

We write mainly on the Lenses, our Gods, their interactions with us and the world around us, as well as our experiences with being non-human and finding solace in the unknown.

We are inherently very pulled to perform acts of service to the Gods and our Sisterwitch, but this compassion and care extends to all, all should receive and be accepted into Sanctuary.

We'd write more, but it's late and the vessel is suffering from a severe lack of sleep on top of various other illnesses... we are all happy to meet you regardless.
