just to clarify, in the sffilm festival clip i posted, the audience member asking the question definitely says 'straight lady', however, the full question was something like '...eve...who is obviously a straight lady, but then ends up (sandra interrupts here)....meets this person, has these experiences …and eventually she learns that…' 

so yeah it definitely could've been worded better on their part and i'm glad sandra cut in but i think they just meant that eve doesn’t realise she's attracted to both men and women until meeting villanelle. which is the impression most ppl take from the show given that eve tells bill she's never been attracted to women before. whether eve was lying to bill (or herself) in that moment is of course up for debate.
