Description.

I tried wakeboarding during the summer of 2014 first time in my life when I was 15 years old. During the summer of 2015, my brother and me have spent and week training in a wakeboarding spot – FoxSpot – in Šiauliai. And finally in the summer of 2016 I have visited the full size wake park cable system in a new spot WakeWay in Vilnius!

I have always wakeboarded with my brother, so as soon as we found out about the opening of WakeWay, we decided to take our board, hop on a bus (since we were too young for driver’s license at the time) and go train in the new cable park. During the summer we went there more than ten times!

Full size cable system differs from an ordinary cable system in that it is rotational. Conventional cable system is linear where you are pulled and have to do a turn on each end of the cable. In full size system, on the other hand, there are only six very “mild” turns.

Reflection.

Teamwork.

In extreme sports like wakeboarding being a part of a team is essential. It’s simply impossible to ride and improve on your own. Therefore, I was also a part of a team – my team is my family. I have learnt to appreciate the presence of my closest people with me wherever I go.

Physical exertion.

In addition, wakeboarding is a sport where every muscle in the body is under tension while riding. Therefore, my physical readiness was increased dramatically throughout my trainings.
