This is the painting I submitted to @lefthandblackstudio 's group art show titled "Till Death" that opened last night. It was an honor to be a part of it. This painting is called "The misery of Violet Whaley" Violet's story is a true part of San Diego's History. The shortened version is: Two weeks into Violet's marriage, as the couple was traveling back east on their honeymoon, she awoke one morning to find her husband gone. Violet and George's divorce was finalized approximately a year later. Violet never recovered from the public humiliation and betrayal and suffered from depression. She committed suicide by shooting herself in the chest with her father, Thomas's, 32-calibre on August 18, 1885. She was then 22 years of age.
