it’d been a while since he’d seen the kazekage. shikadai mentioned his two uncles would be visiting so he wouldn’t be able to stay overnight this week. it had the boy reminiscing on that day --- a soul close to his father’s yet different. the battle with the two gods, witnessing the younger eating the elder as a chakra pill --- grotesque in boruto’s eyes that he couldn’t just unsee it. did his father really battle people like that once?
and beat them? worried, sky blue colored eyes traveled to his right hand just staring at the wrapped center of his palm. the diamond stagnant. just what did this thing do anyway? was it good? was it bad? he’d told no one after the battle that he’d seen momoshiki’s spirit --- that’d he heard his fate foretold by the god. it still sent chills through his being.
but this wasn’t a time to mope about things! he wanted to see the kazekage today --- he wanted to know just what it was about his old man that made him who he was today. what had his father done to change others around him? remembering that gaara had some kind of past with his father made him curious. the uzumaki took off at a small trot towards the nara household.
so many questions and so little time...
( what do i ask him when i meet him? he’s kind of a quiet guy and i don’t think his son likes me all that much either, ‘ttebasa...that kid’s weird... )
