This recipe for homemade hummus tastes better than store-bought and is very simple to prepare. It's flavorful, creamy, and ideal for spreading or dipping on sandwiches.
Ingredients: 1 15 oz can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed. 3 tbsp tahini. 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/2 tsp ground cumin. 1/4 cup olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. 2-3 tbsp water for desired consistency. Paprika and olive oil for garnish.
Instructions: Place chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and cumin in a food processor. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until well combined. Add salt, pepper, and water to achieve the desired consistency. Blend again. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. Transfer to a serving dish, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika. Serve with pita bread, veggies, or your favorite dipping items.
