who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter
Amadeo was forcibly turned into a werewolf and became a hunter first to just kill the person that ruined his life, and then to stop werewolves to ruin any other innocent lives. Philemon is a hunter hired by other werewolves to kill Amadeo off, but when he finds Amadeo he can’t because; a) moral dilemma and b) Amadeo is hot.
who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman
Philemon is a mermaid from the Persian/Arabian Gulf, where his family has been harvesting the finest Basra pearls for as long as they can remember; it’s why the pearls are so rare among humans. Philemon has pearls decorating his hair and tail. Amadeo is an Italian fisherman, selling fish in his village to earn a living. They meet because Philemon is exchanging pearls in the Mediterranean Sea when an unexpected storm makes Amadeo’s boat drift out into the open sea, far from the Italian shore.
who’s the witch and who’s the familiar
Amadeo would never have chosen to be a witch as he’s the only one in a religious family, but he treasures the gift given to him by God and try his best to give back to the earth and to his loved ones. He specialises in healing and nature magic, and brew herbal wines. Philemon was turned into a bat-eared fox by another witch that thought that he needed to learn a lesson. Amadeo saved Philemon from the witch without knowing that the mistreated fox was once a human.
who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict
Amadeo works as a barista at a local coffee shop. Philemon doesn’t drink coffee, but he drinks tea. A lot of tea. Amadeo suggests him to switch to coffee after Philemon once orders three large cups of Earl Grey, and Philemon is so offended that he asks Amadeo out ”just so that I can take a sip of coffee and spit it out at you”. He words it like that. Amadeo says yes, but agrees that maybe Philemon shouldn’t drink any coffee if there’s gonna be a second date.
who’s the professor and who’s the TA
Philemon is a history professor whose area of expertise is medieval history and the Renaissance. Amadeo is studying art history, and his interest in the Renaissance led him to be Philemon’s TA.
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)
Philemon is not a knight per se but more of an opportunist that steals from those that have more than him. Amadeo is the oldest prince of a small kingdom, who has been slowly poisoned by his step-mother so that her son - the next eldest - can be the next king instead. Amadeo prays to God for his illness to go away, not knowing that it’s poison. Philemon is posing as a servant in the castle and sees the step-mother poison Amadeo’s food. Hoping for a reward of sorts, he saves Amadeo.
who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent
Amadeo juggles being a teacher and a single parent. Philemon has no children of his own, but his niece is in Amadeo’s class, and Philemon is very insistent on winning the best uncle award every year so he picks her up almost every day. Amadeo has no idea what Philemon works with, but the contrast of Philemon and the cute niece is big, and Amadeo wouldn’t let Philemon pick her up the first time without double-checking with both her parents and seeing Philemon’s ID. He admit to being too paranoid after getting to know Philemon.
who’s the writer and who’s the editor
Philemon writes a book series about torture devices through history and Amadeo is his unfortunate editor who has to fact check everything constantly. They have an accidental date at a torture exhibition once and Amadeo hit Philemon with one of his own books because it ended up resulting in more editing needing to be done.
