“No. Wrong. Try again.”

Harry sighed. “Can’t I just… not tell him? Can’t I just keep it to myself?”

“You’re the one who keeps telling me something about the basis of a healthy relationship… What was it again?” Tom raised an eyebrow expectantly, and Harry glared at him for a moment before relenting.

“The basis of a healthy relationship is communication,” he recited reluctantly.

“Good.” Tom’s smile was sharp and shark-like. “Now, when Sanguini walks in, you’re going to get him away from Pyrites and you’re going to tell him what?”

“Sanguini, I think I’m in love with you.”

Tom’s smile was a lot more genuine this time. “Much better!” he praised, as the door burst open to reveal Sanguini and Pyrites standing just outside. One was a bit more shocked than the other.

“Harry… you… what?” Sanguini managed.

“Evening Tom,” Pyrites said. “I’m going to catch a movie. Want to join?”

Pyrites disappeared from the door and Tom followed swiftly afterwards, though not before placing an awkward but supportive hand on Harry’s shoulder (as Tom had been coaching Harry on certain things, so too had Harry been coaching Tom on others).

It was a few moments before Sanguini regained the ability to form words. A few moments later they had both confessed, and a few hours later Tom and Pyrites came back in to find such questionable activities being committed on the sofa that they could not leave fast enough to catch another movie.

who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter

Amadeo was forcibly turned into a werewolf and became a hunter first to just kill the person that ruined his life, and then to stop werewolves to ruin any other innocent lives. Philemon is a hunter hired by other werewolves to kill Amadeo off, but when he finds Amadeo he can’t because; a) moral dilemma and b) Amadeo is hot.

who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman

Philemon is a mermaid from the Persian/Arabian Gulf, where his family has been harvesting the finest Basra pearls for as long as they can remember; it’s why the pearls are so rare among humans. Philemon has pearls decorating his hair and tail. Amadeo is an Italian fisherman, selling fish in his village to earn a living. They meet because Philemon is exchanging pearls in the Mediterranean Sea when an unexpected storm makes Amadeo’s boat drift out into the open sea, far from the Italian shore.

who’s the witch and who’s the familiar

Amadeo would never have chosen to be a witch as he’s the only one in a religious family, but he treasures the gift given to him by God and try his best to give back to the earth and to his loved ones. He specialises in healing and nature magic, and brew herbal wines. Philemon was turned into a bat-eared fox by another witch that thought that he needed to learn a lesson. Amadeo saved Philemon from the witch without knowing that the mistreated fox was once a human.

who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict

Amadeo works as a barista at a local coffee shop. Philemon doesn’t drink coffee, but he drinks tea. A lot of tea. Amadeo suggests him to switch to coffee after Philemon once orders three large cups of Earl Grey, and Philemon is so offended that he asks Amadeo out ”just so that I can take a sip of coffee and spit it out at you”. He words it like that. Amadeo says yes, but agrees that maybe Philemon shouldn’t drink any coffee if there’s gonna be a second date. 

who’s the professor and who’s the TA

Philemon is a history professor whose area of expertise is medieval history and the Renaissance. Amadeo is studying art history, and his interest in the Renaissance led him to be Philemon’s TA.

who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)

Philemon is not a knight per se but more of an opportunist that steals from those that have more than him. Amadeo is the oldest prince of a small kingdom, who has been slowly poisoned by his step-mother so that her son - the next eldest - can be the next king instead. Amadeo prays to God for his illness to go away, not knowing that it’s poison. Philemon is posing as a servant in the castle and sees the step-mother poison Amadeo’s food. Hoping for a reward of sorts, he saves Amadeo.

who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent

Amadeo juggles being a teacher and a single parent. Philemon has no children of his own, but his niece is in Amadeo’s class, and Philemon is very insistent on winning the best uncle award every year so he picks her up almost every day. Amadeo has no idea what Philemon works with, but the contrast of Philemon and the cute niece is big, and Amadeo wouldn’t let Philemon pick her up the first time without double-checking with both her parents and seeing Philemon’s ID. He admit to being too paranoid after getting to know Philemon.

who’s the writer and who’s the editor

Philemon writes a book series about torture devices through history and Amadeo is his unfortunate editor who has to fact check everything constantly. They have an accidental date at a torture exhibition once and Amadeo hit Philemon with one of his own books because it ended up resulting in more editing needing to be done.

Assuming my aversion towards Johnny Depp’s casting isn’t an unpopular opinion, I’d go with disliking newtina. Sure, they’re both great characters and could be an adorable couple, but the implied romance felt absolutely unnecessary.

I really appreciate you discussing my au's with me, but do you have any au's of your own that you want to talk about??

WELL, kinda. One of them I’m going to actually write out into a fic, and I’m super excited about it. But most of them are just “what ifs?” What if the Potters had a daughter instead of Harry, no, not fem!Harry, like an actual different child. What would they name her? I picture her to look like Lily but have James’s personality and Snape would still be awful to her but randomly give her house points for dumb things. Aunt Petunia would hate her so much, barely said two words to her, her whole life. She’d still be a Gryffindor though. I also think she’d probably be closer friends with Fred and George instead of Ron and Hermione, and she constantly tease Lavender in the dorms. tbh, I think she’d be ace but always flirting with Malfoy because it makes him blush, and she was the one to slap Malfoy in third year instead of Hermione. She’d probably date Charlie after leaving Hogwarts because y’know, dragons, danger. (AND THEN CONVIENTLY GINNY AND LUNA COULD GET TOGETHER) Remus being fiercely protective of her but Sirius is carefree because it’s basically James, so he thinks she can take care of anything. What if Dumbledore and Grindlewald got together? Would he still have become a Dark Lord? What if the reason he became a Dark Lord was because Albus turned him down? I picture Dumbledore not on good terms with his sexuality and he’s vv good friends with Gellert but he just can’t take that extra leap, because, fear. And Gellert’s already making the decent into darkness, Albus just watches, again fear. (SIDE NOTE I’M PRETTY SURE DUMBLEDORE JUST HIRED LOCKHEART BECAUSE HE’S PRETTY) Eventually, things just get too complicated for Albus, his parents fighting, Arianna tragedy, Gellert keeps telling him he loves him, and he just snaps. Rudely breaks off the friendship with Gellert and then, y’know. Dark Lord things. And for the rest of his life Albus does his best to be a better person each day. But what if Albus was like, “Gellert is bae” and they dated and got married, I doubt Albus would be okay with the whole dark-arts things. He’d probably sway Gellert towards the light. Would Albus still be working with Flammel? Working in alchemy? (I think he did that before Hogwarts, I can’t remember.) What would Gellert have become? Would someone else have gone to fetch Tom Riddle? How would that effect Tom Riddle’s life if Dumbledore wasn’t in it? Also, au where Gilderoy Lockheart is headmaster. For no reason at all other than I think it would be hilarious. He literally just sits in his office all day with press. Talking about how great he is. And nobody but Harry wonders how Lockheart has time to go on these fantastic adventures and run the school at the same time. Fred and George earning infinite house points simply by complimenting Lockheart every day.

Tomarry AU where Harry is famous and Tom is his stalker??

Harry is beautiful. It’s those green eyes of his that Tom loves the most though.

When Harry is up on stage singing, it seems like Harry’s eyes can always find his in the crowd.

Tom is beautiful, too, and he knows that he and Harry would make a stunning couple. With Harry’s legions of dedicated fans and Tom’s charm and cunning, they could do whatever they wanted, have whatever they wanted. 

Harry just needed a little persuasion. Sure, he’d liked some of Tom’s Tweets to him and replied to his letters with a general answer, but it wasn’t enough. Tom was more than just some silly little fan--he was Harry’s answer to everything.

Finding out where Harry is staying is an easy feet--any fan with enough dedication and the internet can figure it out. It’s getting inside the hotel without detection that takes skill that only Tom is capable of. Besides, breaking the security measures also means that Tom knows how to stop others doing the same. Really, he’ll be so good for Harry. 

A stolen keycard off the janitor gets Tom into Harry’s room before the end of the concert. It’s a pity he had to miss the finale, but it’s probably a good metaphor because he and Harry together will never have an end. 

Tom waits, and hides in the shadows until finally the door opens and Harry steps through. He doesn’t notice Tom, not until Tom lets himself be known.

fic title: the lord of the twin moons

When Harry Potter drowns in a frozen lake saving his cousin from the same fate, the Dark Lord Voldemort finds him first. Born again from a magic Harry doesn’t yet understand, he follows what seems to be his only ally in a world he’s seeing in a new light. Not only chased by enemies, adults, and former friends, a mysteriously familiar man called Tom Riddle is after him too, better known as the Lord of the Twin Moons, who above everyone else Voldemort fights to keep him from. However Harry soon learns that the two extremes are not quite as different as he’d been led to believe- for surely, with twin moons, would there not also be twin lords?

Tom grabbed Harry’s wrist, forcing him to turn back around and face Tom.

“Don’t go anywhere,” Tom hissed. “You think my anger’s unwarranted? That I’m wrong for calling you weak? You’re the one who’s wrong, Harry. You’re so very wrong.”

“Just forget it, Tom!” Harry exclaimed, wishing now more than ever that he’d kept his mouth shut. “I’d..I’d forgiven them. It was fine. You shouldn’t have killed them. You shouldn’t have-”

“I did it for you, Harry,” Tom snarled. “They locked you in a cupboard, they hit you, they called you a freak. I slaughtered them for you. Of course I’m angry that you snapped at me for it. I simply can’t comprehend how you could possibly forgive scum like them.”

“The same way I forgave you,” Harry said quietly. “And the same way I’ll forgive you for this. God, I feel like I hate you sometimes, and then I’m hit with how much I love you.”

Tom’s expression softened, and he drew Harry into his arms. 

“I won’t apologise for what I did,” Tom murmured. “But remember I only did it to ease the pain I felt for hearing how the treated you. I may not love the same way you do, Harry, but I feel it in my own way. You would die for me, but I would kill for you.”
