After the wedding, Luciana knew the tension had grown to an all new high in the Autumn Court. It had been a couple of days since arriving back, and the woman had drowned herself in doing whatever job she could. Sure, she had been taught how she needed to handle this kind of thing, but with the threat looming closer, she struggled to think straight. Since getting back, she hadn’t even seen Kaden. There was so much going on that it didn’t really surprise her they hadn’t crossed paths in the castle, but she had also wanted to give both of them time to process the tragedy at the wedding. 

It was the early afternoon when she managed to slip a note in his room, setting the small piece of paper on one of his nightstands. It would probably be awhile before he would even return to his room, but she just hoped he saw it before it passed the time she wrote down. 

Meet me at the fountain in the garden at midnight? I miss you. Even if you don’t want to talk, I just want to see you.  - Luciana As midnight approached, Luciana hadn’t bothered to change into anything more comfortable. There were bound to be guards almost everywhere she went. Hopefully she could get Kaden to herself for at least a few minutes without one of the guards seeing them. Her walk to the garden was a short one, though the one to the fountain was a bit longer. As she walked, she took in the sight of the trees with the perfect autumn colored leaves, as well as the flowers that had survived into the new season. Once she was at the fountain, she moved to sit down on one of the stone benches, eyes focused on the water as she waited.

now that he’d finally landed in amsterdam and settled in to his new apartments, adrik was interested in exploring the city. more importantly, he wanted to meet the vampires in the city. the easiest place to do so would be a nearly only vampire frequented club: the red ruby. he’d visited here long ago, but just as the times changed, so did amsterdam. adrik pushed open the red front door with his foot, wandering inside the building. he left his coat at the check, gaze roaming the dark red walls and decor. it made him smile at how ridiculous it all was. and so often his kind wondered why they were labeled melodramatic? 

he pulled a cigarette out and placed it between his lips, more so a habit than a need. adrik didn’t want to partake tonight, and having something else in his mouth helped him control himself. he brushed off the ladies and men that clung to his side when he first walked in. no, adrik simply wanted to observe tonight. he took a seat at the bar, not sure if he wanted to risk sitting on an unknown fluid. “got a light?” he mused, to no one in particular.

Luciana would normally describe the energy of the autumn court as a relaxing one. It was somewhere that you felt like just enjoying a cool breeze and taking in all the plants that filled the area with shades of orange, red and yellow. However, war seemed to change that. To someone who was just passing through, it seemed like nothing was amiss. To the ones who had been there for their whole lives, there was a tension in the air of wondering what might happen. With that tension, the lady in waiting had started to keep a closer eye on the high ruler. Though, there was also another reason.

It was nearing close to midnight when Luciana began walking down the empty halls of the castle. The light that filled the halls was from the moonlight that seeped in from the windows. On nights where the moon was bright and the sky was clear, she never needed a light. There was something calming about the moonlight as well, which at times, she needed as she would head to a certain room. Finally, the brunette stopped at a set of large double doors, noting how they were opened just enough to let someone slip inside if they wanted to.

With a small smile, she carefully stepped forward to slip into the room. Her hands went to the handle and quietly closed the doors, making sure to lock them behind her. “Finally.” She couldn’t help but let out a relieved sigh, brown eyes closing for just a moment before opening them again. Normally, what she was doing was the same thing that happened with many ladies in waiting. The threat of war had changed that though. When she spotted the high lord, she walked towards him and settled for hugging him from behind. 

“Guess who?” She asked him playfully in a sing song voice. “I’ll give you three guesses. You’ll win a prize if you get it right within those first guesses.”

@sangue-e-luce​ -- Lodging for the Autumn Court, the morning wedding

As Lucy unpacked her dress and jewelry, she couldn’t help but sigh at the sight of a note resting on her pillow. Being in the lodgings for th Autumn Court was nice, but it would be even easier to get caught with Kaden. Yet, there it was, the note telling her to meet Kaden at a certain time in his room. The last thing she needed on top of the wedding and impending war was to be caught with the high lord. It felt like the night had lasted forever, and she knew she slept well since she slept through the man brining her a note during the night. She put on her dress and jewelry before looking herself over in the mirror. Her eyes shifted to the clock, noting the time. Luciana stuck the note under her pillow before leaving her room  She quietly opened up the door and glanced around to make sure no one spotted her. Once she was safe, she stepped inside and closed the door behind her. She gave a small sigh and looked up, looking for Kaden. “You know, we should be focusing on getting ready for the wedding.”

A large, gold framed portrait of a woman playing the piano forte was the gift of choice by Jacqueline Dubois, to the High Lord Kaden Bahatti. At first glance, both the gift and enclosed letter are congenial gifts of diplomacy. A way to show her appreciation, as well as smooth the rocky road from the death at the Beaumont-Wren wedding. However, anyone who knew Jacqueline well, could easily read the subtext. For example, the portrait and suggestion to mount it in the Autumn Court insinuates her growing proximity to the Autumn Court. Meanwhile, the traits of ‘kindness, trust, and directness’ that she praises, was thinly-veiled mockery of the Autumn Court’s values. Never the less, the gift is a fine example of the Night Court’s inclination to the arts and her own affection for the piano.

“There you are,” was all Elvyra offered by way of greeting, shedding her coat and tossing it over the back of the booth before sliding in. “If you were waiting long it’s only because I was sitting at an identical table on the other side for about ten minutes before checking my phone. Imagine that? Ridiculous.” With a dramatic roll of her eyes, she settled herself into her seat, puffing out a breath and fluffing her hair before popping open a menu. It would be better to keep distracted or she might snap at poor Cassandra for no good reason. 

It had been a while since Elvyra had fed. Too long, really, but she’d been distracted. Plus, she’d discovered that the longer she pushed herself, the better it tasted--a true masochist. This time, however, she was looking for something more. Blood that wouldn’t just satisfy her hunger but also her constant pursuit of euphoria. She’d been chasing a high ever since that first vampire had sunk its fangs into her neck and showed her what true bliss could feel like. In fact, when she’d become a vampire herself, it wasn’t a normal life that she’d felt robbed of. It was being able to serve as a blood doll that she missed. Sex had become her obvious replacement for that rush of pleasure, but she had a weakness for blood laced with alcohol or a drugs or a nice cocktail of both and she wanted some. Although if Cassandra didn’t have any, she supposed she’d make do. But first, small talk. It wouldn’t be unlike the dealer to withhold for bad behavior, Elvyra assumed demanding blood right off the bat would constitute. “How’ve you been, babe? I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve seen that stunning face of yours.” @sangue-e-luce​
